Well I suppose they've got to print something. Can't fault him for at least not going along with the usual shite that football writers/presenters are trotting out but I still happen to think he's talking like a cunt.

Alan Green is an over rated, over-egoed, self inflated pompous twat. Ironic that he commentates on the BBC as he constantly thinks hes there to advertise himself. Awful commentator, did well to make Fergie look likeable in their spat & then built an an even further extended ego off the affair

Germany had there blip tonight by conceding 2 goals to that crock of shite. I've got to agree with Alan Greene !!!!! How the fuck they qualified is beyond me.

The guy who scored the pen looked a decent player and their keeper deserves a wee bit credit.

I think the next couple of games are too close to call but I'm hoping the 5th official doesn't forget to put in his contact lenses unlike the kadt official in the England game....... :lol

Do you mean the Greek keeper!!??

I only listened on 5live and the keeper was practically rediculed. When Shweinsteiger had a free-kick 40 yards out Green said,in all seriousness, that he may well have a go as its bound to come back off the goalie, lol

I did the same thing with City this season by playing them down and it worked, I'm hoping it does the same for England.

The thing with England though is that we really are piss poor, with the players we have at our disposal Hodgson is playing them the right way, if we took half of the teams at these finals 'head on' then we would get tatered as lets face it most of our players weren't good enough at their peak and they are no better now.
Gerrard is making the difference this time around though as I think he's realising it could be his swansong, plus he's finally wearing the armband that he should have been wearing continually for the last decade.
I'm not optimistic about England's chances but while we're still in the comp we still have a chance, it's just a shame Greece are the benchmark for any success we may achieve.

I thought Welbeck's goal was superb, he knew what he was doing and it turned out right for him, same could be said of any fantastic volley that fly's into the back of the net as there's a fine line between success and failure, when it comes off though like Welbeck's did he deserves the plaudits.
I've been sat on the fence about Welbeck all season but he's turning out to be a quality player with his head screwed on and willing to learn, he will only get better over the next couple of years and I can see him becoming a world class striker.

As for England though, lets just take it one game at a time as we are now the underdog from here on in and rightly so.

Thanks for the reply. I apologize for the late reply. I tried betting in Shitbet awhile ago in the semis match between Germany and Greece. I bet on Germany at 1.33 and 1 won. 33/100. Beginner's luck I guess. Here's their link if you want to try other bookies.

Edited by me - Link removed
Reason - I'm just suspicious of people posting links all over the place, no matter how innocent they might look.

I just haven't got a clue what to expect but good luck England:beer , I have a feeling it might go to pens but I hope not.

Very hard to call IMO, not one to bet on. I had a lucky 15 on thursday that, with the others down, gives me 2-2 tonight. we have a chance as we're a fighting team that brings others to our level. IMO the jury is still out on Hodgson, but hes done nothing wrong so far. I do actually believe that if anyone is likely to stop the germans, its us. Whether we're good enough to get a chance, or deserve a chance? a moot point

Germany and Italy will meet in the semi-final of Euro 2012 on Thursday 28 June 2012 at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Germany have won this trophy three times, in 1972, 1980 and 1996, and Italy have won it just once, in 1968.

The quarter finals was so great when it came to goals. Germany’s 4-2 win over Greece is the highest scoring match so far in this tournament whereas Italy’s game against England was the first game without a goal.

Aye but it made painful viewing but thats the Hodgson way I suppose, It was just like watching West Brom.
I could see what Hodgson was trying to do but if he'd had been a bit more brave I reckon England could have beat Italy over 90 mins as they are not a very good side, the way Italy backed off our forwards in the first 20 mins should have been a signal to get at them but instead he pulled everybody back into position with instructions to hold the line and not get beat. it became pretty clear from early on that Hodgson wanted pens.

I thought the double substitution was strange too, Milner was having his best game of the tournament and Welbeck looked Englands best player at that moment, how Young stayed on the pitch was baffling.
Then when Italy missed chance after chance I thought England were destined to win the match but it was not to be, In the end Italy thoroughly deserved to go through.

I can see the Germans giving them a good spanking though, fcuk knows what they would have done to us had we managed to fluke our way through.
