Just read a couple by a guy called Craig Russell , excellent books.
Main character is an ex Canadian soldier who relocates to Glasgow as a private eye , its set in the mid 1950s.
Mmm , sounds lame and far fetched , but it does work.
On the look out for more by him , also has another character called Fabel in another set of books , heres the authors web-site ..

Talking of which; the bastard thing wouldn't charge when I just plugged it in, apparently you're not to meant to let the thing completely discharge. I wish they would have told me that b4 I left it in the draw for 6 months.

I did find a fix mind, you have to hold in the volume up , down and power buttons all at the same time for about 10 secs, then it'll start charging again, worked for me anyhow.
