Hi, 1st post on this particular board and probably going to be a bit controversial.
Am i the only one that find it a little bizarre that anyone in this day and age anyone actually pays for sports tips ? With all the info on the net i would've thought that pro tipsters would be redundant but apparently not . So in a bored moment i thought i'd check a few of them out. What an eye opener that was. Prices for tips range from 9 euro to..wait for it....$12000 US. That was just for starters. Reading the tipsters past records was another surprise. The best one had to be the claiming an 88% ROI. In fact quite a number of sites claim around the same mark. It's very misleading as they calculate on their total turnover rather than to level stakes which would give you a truer picture of their worth. The 88% claim was actually more like 2.91% which is a tad low for a so called pro punter. They should be at least 5% to level stakes.
Then you check out the prices of their tips. The average appears to be somewhere in the region of the 1.70's. WOW. You just paid 50 euros for 1.70's shot. Good call. I just did a very quick check on one of those live scores sites. Taking the top 4 Div's in the UK and since the 15/9 you'll find 12 games where a team is paying in the 1.70's. 9 of the won giving you a profit of a little over 3pts. Hey i'm a pro tipster...! In retrospect of course.
Seriously, think about it. If you're paying between 50-100 euros a month for tips then you are already down before you start betting. There is so much free information on the net that all it takes is a little effort and you should be able to pick your own winners on a regular basis. It really is'nt as hard these pro tipster tell you. Trust me, it's much more fun and rewarding picking a 2.00+ winner yourself than paying someone for a 1.70 shot that you probably could've picked yourself anyway.
Oh and no, i'm not selling anything. I am not nor intend to be a pro tipster. I don't need the money..!

no link ? now that is controversial.

What sort of statement is "I dont need the money" ? If you are going to spam then spam away so I can delete you.

If your going to post up some of your 2.00+ teams that you fancy the post away and welcome to betnod :beer

Dear Mr Moderator, as a first time poster i am ,to be honest, not sure of your rules regarding the posting of links.
As for my comment that i don't need the money, i was merely highlighting the fact that i am not selling anything. To be more specific, yes i do make money off sports betting therefore i don't feel the need to sell my tips. Have i had my accounts closed down ? Yes i have. I'm particularly proud of the BWIN close down. I lasted 2 days. Not because i won huge amounts but because....they never did tell me.
My issue is that there are people out there pushing out a product that is freely available to anyone who cares to look. There are people who make wild claims on their success based on flawed calculations. To prove my point, as stated in my earlier post, check the top 4 Div in the UK. Count how many teams were paying between 1.70 and 1.79 and then count the winners. Then go and check any "Pro Tipster" and see how many they pick at 1.79 or lower.
Am i prepared to back up my statement. Too Right i am

    :) :) :)

    @Rushingrogan

    I pay for tips mate.

You say its bizarre that anyone pays for tips in this day and age BECAUSE theres plenty of decent free tips on the internet?

Okie Dokie-Ill bet you £500(which NATURALLY you can easily afford judging by your first post) that my 3 best pro tipsters make a bigger roi over the next 12 months* than your 3 best amateurs on the internet?

    ALRIGHT:thumb

But apart from that you seem to have overlooked the blindingly fucking obvious.

The bets given away for free on the internet ARE NOT THE SAME as those given by the betting services Im a member of:eek:

THUS I make money from both:eek

    Quelle bizzarre.

    * We would make it to the end of next seasons formula 1 and I would simply tell /pm you the tipsters and you'd tell me the 3 best free tipsters-otherwise you'd be getting free tips from paid services

Oh yeah, another thing Rushinrogan,I love the way you say "with a little effort"!

Let me divide that into 2 parts:

If you're saying it takes a little effort to successfully make a profit from football betting by using the free info on the internet then I have another bet for you.

We take 10 reasonably intelligent people who aren't regular bettors and give them 3 months to study the internet gambling forums etc and then 1 month to bet.

I will bet that they make an overall loss.Interested?

On the other hand,if you're saying that it takes little effort to find the people on the internet who are ACTUALLY profitable,I may well have another bet for you but first I need to know how you define "little effort".

Tell you what, why don't we start with THIS VERY SITE,BETNOD.

Lets see how long it takes you to spot the profitable tipsters on here-THEN well get you to place singles on their advice for 1 month and we will see if you make a profit-if you do,we will then see how it compares with the tips from those you rejected.*

    Again,interested?

    * Errrrrrrrr,not including yorkie:unsure

(Dont infer anything from that yorkie-I know betnod needed you in the competition with the other site-you could skew the results, innit:thumb)

Well it looks to me that there are two elements to your thread Rushy me old mate. One is a blindingly obvious one which hardly needed making as, even the most stupid of us (you'll soon work out who he is) would all have worked out at some stage....

No need to prove your point. I think everyone who owns a computer has already been in contact with them. We get 20 emails a week from them. Spamming cunts we call them.

The other, more interesting, point is that you appear to be suggesting that anyone who pays for tips is mentally retarded. This wouldn't, in itself, be interesing, had hotspur not chimed up to say that he pays for tips.

    Now it's interesting:thumb

    @ Hotspur
Thank you for your reply. However i must take you to task. A lil dangerous i know as you are obviously the big kahuna around here and have a rep (every board has one). Anyway i digress, could you please point out to me where exactly i said anything about free tipsters ? Also , could please tell me where i said anything about just football ?
Unfortunately you seem to be missing my point entirely. Maybe if i type a little slower or use upper case (CAPITALS TO YOU) you might understand. What i'm saying is that with a little effort you could study the "Form" yourself and quite easily come up with winners paying under the 2 mark.
When i refer to free information i'm talking about stat's and history. It's all freely available if you take the time to look. The hardest part is doing the initial homework and building a database. Once you've done that your home and hosed. The hardest part is not picking winners but showing a high degree of discipline.
Am i calling people who pay for tips mentally retarded ? No, a little lazy maybe. But my point still stands, if you're paying for tips then you're already down before you start.
Now to the challenge that Mr Hotspur threw out. First off, i'm not up for comparing myself against one of your "Pro tipsters". The simple reason being that in any given period of time Joe blogs could have a better run than me within that period. I'm not about beating anyone but more about making a steady profit all year round. I'm quite happy to put up my personal bets for entire month, free of charge, as long as he does the same. Hell lets make it interesting. if i make a profit then Mr Hotspur will donate $100 US to a charity of my choice. If i don't make a profit then i'll donate the same to his charity of choice. Are you up for it ?
P.S..I think it only fair to warn you that it's been a very long time since i had a losing month.

That sounds fair enough. I'm sure hotspur will accept that wager.

He's a man of conviction and certainly no bottle-merchant.

Hmm, just read my post. Not sure the challenge is clear enough. I don't expect Hotspur to put up his "Pro tipster" tips as i'm sure that would break some sort of contract he has. So the challenge is,
For the month of November i will post every bet i make (i refuse to call them tips). If at the end of that month i make a profit, however small, then he donates. If i don't then i donate.

Oh i forgot..hence the edit...I will NOT post any selection that is paying less then 2.00 at the time of posting. Screen shots will provided if requested

Hi and welcome to Betnod Rushinrogan, boy do I like the cut of your cloth.

Hotspur is not the sort of man to shirk a challenge and I'm sure he'll be more than obliging to take up the challenge.
    Let the game commence.........

I agree Slick. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if hotspur didn't insist on the stakes being doubled.
