I am about as much Beabea as you are Aled Jones. I didn't expect any credit from advertising this site on Sitcoms Online, which has brought you a new international clientele from Beabea to the brunette from Buffalo and others.

I'm finding the Belgium/Argentina game difficult to call. Argentina have underperformed, but one moment of magic from Messi each game has been enough to see them through.

Belgium started slowly but are gradually getting into their stride. I'm on Argentina to win the cup, so my bet here is (another) free one (thanks Paddy) on Belgium/draw at 4/5. If I lose it's 'only' a freebie; if I win, the winnings go on a bet on Belgium (or Holland) to win it.

Another unimpressive win for the Argies see them through. Belgium once again disappoint.

Got a nice book now after trading.

So the last quarter final. The previous three have all gone with the bookies' favourites, if not always convincingly. I'm on class to tell for the Dutch tonight; they could be the best Costs Rica have came up against so far, and I think van persie, Robben et all will have enough to score one or more, while Costa Rica's don't have a threat in the same class. I'm on Netherlands -1 AH at 13/20 with Bet365

    Will this thing even work?

Edit -got to deduct £15 pre tourney on Belgium that I backed, minus all the in running losses, also backed a europea team to win for +/-£200 so bottom line is in a good position but could still end up with fuck all if Brazil win

Also missed the chance to back a Holland Brazil final last night at 5/1 because only one bookie was offering it. Woke this morning to find it was only 4/1 so left it alone but now it's best price 7/2 so I've fucked that up.

Got a tenner on a Brazil Argie final which will be ok as long as Argentina end up winning it

Well done fellas, i've not done so well. I'm in a much better position now the dutch are through and i'm either going to end up with the smallest of losses or the smallest of wins.

What's your next move ODM? You leaving it at that? You're well stacked on the Argies! :thumb

I think we all want the Argies to win.

Aguero to start and steal the show?

I'm leaving it as it is mate. My massive losers were the French and Costa Rica. Now my worst result is Brazil and I've never seen them winning it from day one so I'm happy to take them on (although id be happier if i'd have taken a bit on the holland brazil final.

I have no move for now - may change my mind in play

To be fair mate. that's the best the Argies have played. There's something to be said about peaking at the right time

Well done everyone who got a profit. My four quarter final bets came in at an unimpressive zero out of four :giveup although in my defence a couple of those were free bet hedges.

Nice one mate :thumb I don't care who wins as long as it's not Brazil so I'll be shouting for the Argies for you.

Surely you'll be readjusting your book if they get to the final (or at least if they take the lead and go very short?)

Yes mate, that's what I mean about "in play". If they take a lead in the semi's and go shorter I'll lay some (but would back back again at the bigger price if the other team then equalised later) - Likewise if they start the game off shite and look like they are second best I may even panic and lay a bit at a larger price but at the moment there is no play to make until the prices start to change, with the possible exception of a draw no bet of Holland (currently 5/4). I want my win on Argentina to be at least £800 profit or I'll feel it's all not been worth the effort and, as I said there is £15 to come off that total for the belgium bet and £200 to come off the UEFA team to win bet so that's not giving me massive wiggle room as it is.

If I had more green on Germany Id put a hundred on Brazil to qualify at evens but doing that would make me a loss if Germany went through and won it and, as I said, I've sort of been making Brazil my top liability for a reason - I don't think they're very good (and even less so without their main man).

Aye, that's a good idea to have a minimum amount you want to win, that way you don't lay off too much.

If Brazil win this then surely they'll be the worst team to win in our lifetime? Bit surprised they didn't drift more considering Neymar was the only one actually looking like a top player.

I was surprised too. Only one bookie was showing the odds for a Brazil Holland final and they were showing 5/1. Woke up the next day and read your post about Neymar being out and expected to be able to get at least 6s but the best price was 4/1 so I left it. Doesn't make any sense to me.

What I forgot to say was that I actuallly clicked the button to put another £100 on the argies at 8 on betfair at one stage during last week's gameand just as I did, the market was suspended (ahead of the "live" TV feed, obviously) and they had scored. Price shot down fo 5.something. I was fucking fuming but managed not to go "on tilt" and do anything stupid
