What will Schhteve do now? He out to go back to Holland, no sane chairman would employ him here schhurely.

    Love the Dutch accent punt.
More to the point who will replace him? Heard Savage on 606 before touting Martin O'neills wares.

Thought they had alot of managers of lat, so I looked it up,8 in 7 years, one year they had joint managers.
Not a great job to walk into right now.

Somewhat misleading though, as I cant find anywhere that he's been sacked, & a lot of papers were thinking he was walking today anyway after whats happened during the week, so he's walked hasnt he?
He's been linked with walking since the very start, to 'protect his reputation' I've just read :unsure which is an interesting thought :lol

I'm not a fan by any means, & Villa fans obviously made themselves known by demanding he didnt get our job, which I thought was OTT at the time, & some would say we deserved what happened next for that alone :frown but there's obviously a major problem at Forest & not just with McLaren.
The fans will argue that he should have done better coaching the players that he inherited, which is a fair point, but it appears that Billy Davies was an inspirational figure in the dressing room, whereas McLaren was not. Tell us something we dont know :lol
Its hard to know how to read David Pleat going midweek isnt it, & ODM should know more. The way I read it he was the bloke responsible for bringing in new players yet wasnt doing it very well but was a great friend of Doughty the chairman? Davies tried to get rid of him but failed, & continually moaned about the lack of backing & investment. So for McLaren to go just a few days after Pleats departure & what was seen as a McLaren success seems strange, particularly as Doughty has announced he's stepping down as well at the end of the season.
So maybe he has been sacked? But it doesnt say that anywhere on the net, & all the reports I've read said he was walking after the match whatever happened. The bbc bloke in that report said theres no pay off so its a walk.
Forest are in a right mess. Cascarino (who i quote covering my ears as if I remember rightly ODM hates him, although I'm no fan) was scathing about both McLaren & the club in the RP yesterday, saying why did McLaren think he could succeed when an obviously better man manager like Davies couldnt?

Forest fans, take Villa fans as an example, & be careful what you wish for

Something I did read was that McLaren, immediately after Pleats departure, wanted to bring in 2 prem players on loan but Doughty wouldnt allow it, citing wages. Thats obviously broke the camels back.
My over-riding thought is: if Pleat was in charge of transfers & wasnt doing his job, surely his £120k salary could have gone towards the wages :unsure

    from the Press Association

Steve McClaren has resigned as Nottingham Forest manager after just three and a half months in charge.
The former England manager quit shortly after Forest were beaten 3-1 by Birmingham at the City Ground.
That defeat, coupled with a 5-1 hammering at Burnley on Tuesday, prompted post-match talks with Forest chairman Nigel Doughty and it was later confirmed McClaren's resignation had been accepted.
In the aftermath of Tuesday's defeat, David Pleat left his part-time consultancy role with the club, leading many to believe McClaren would be at the helm for the foreseeable future.
That has not proved the case, though, with Forest now once again searching for a new boss.
Following spells in charge of FC Twente - where he won the Eredivisie title - and Wolfsburg, McClaren returned to English football to take the reins at Forest following Billy Davies` sacking in the summer.
The former England manager failed to galvanise the Midlands club, though, with them languishing 21st in the npower Championship after 10 games having reached the play-off semi-finals in each of the last two years.

Nobody decent will take over, Kop, not in the circumstances. Davies did a good job & got sacked. The chairmans going as obviously McLaren told him a few home truths in the process of leaving.

Probably right Swoop but there's alot of decent candidates on that list who have been out of work for some time. Forest would be foolish not to interview some of them.

From the outside looking in, it appears to me that McLaren is taking an awful lot of stick that the board should be taking, & i'm no fan of MLaren

If there was a Mamet on Betfair Id lay Phil Brown all day (ooh er missis). the last two managers have been Derby men, the keeper is a Derby man (a Derby fan in fact) and there are rumours that he is not happy and will be after a move in January. the fans will not stand for another ex Derby man which rules out old permatanman.

Well, with the exception of Cloughie , obviously as that would bloody the old enemy's nose. I can see him managing Forest one day but not while they are in complete disaster mode and a relegation fight and Derby are challenging for promotion.

For similar reasons, I don't see Robinson taking the job. He'll get better opportunities than this if he hangs on. Psycho would never upset the Fa by leaving as he has a long term eye on the England job. O'neil would be ideal but would he take it? one person who I thing would take it is Roy Keane. He has the sort of demented ego that makes him think he can inspire the club to better things. The reality is that the is really just a bully with very little tactical nouse at all but that wouldn't stop them appointing him I'm sure.

Ipswich started the season without a win in 18 games and that sort of run would put them down this season. Ive had some of the 8/1 for him to be next manager. this is the perfect opportunity for him to get back on the merrygoround.

forgot to add, Billy Davies (5/1) left because they wouldn't spend any money - now the money man has gone (£11mill out of pocket if you believe him) so why would the mad jock go back.?

Paul Ince is an interesting one at 25/1.

Was disappointed that you did not ask me for the third one, but suppose to get set up once was enough :), mind you, your Parker & Anderson ones were good, will take that up to 'five players connected to spiders now'. I must say you do know your sport ODM, but I wonder do you have this one....Can you name the Boxer that after winning a British Title, he shit in the ring? yes believe it or not it actually happened!
