Looking for help from the tech bods around in TDP. I have been trying for ages to do this and never quite managed it, driving me nuts.

Looking at getting a website saved for offline usage - it's a java app. Quite urgent as I think it is about to go offline this week or next.

    http://www.beatingbonuses.com/simulator_java.htm

Tried everything starting from "save offline" to using programs to rip websites like HTTrack Website Copier - nothing works. Is there an easy way to do this?

I've not used Java for donkeys yrs.
I'll have a look but if i don't get anywhere I'll ask a work colleague who's shit hot with Java, well programming with it anyhow.

Ahh, that makes more sense lol.
I was wondering why you wanted to save something that you had full access to.

I'll go and see if there's a way to do it.

I can't get that page to load for security reasons but this one loads fine..

Either yay have you tried saving the page using firefox? (right click 'save as') I've just saved the latter and it works fine offline.

The one you link there I can get saved as well. It is the one here http://www.beatingbonuses.com/simulator_java.htm that needs to be saved offline that I cant get to work when I save it or rip it.

You are right about the security warnings. It will only work on Internet Explorer with a security exception set in the java control panel, but it does work if configured like that.

The page http://www.beatingbonuses.com/simulator_java.htm wont work in firefox although I did try saving it there also, it didnt work sadly. I have tried saving in internet explorer where it does work and didnt do much good.

HTTrack Website Copier came the closest and it appears to almost have a working copy offline but I get an error about "PayoutCalc" :(

No matter what I do I can't get that site to load on any browser I have (chrome, firefox or IE) I have a feeling it's because I'm using a 64 bit windows system.
Jez is your windows 32 or 64 bit?

and have you tried downloading it using a linux system like zorin or unbuntu?

I've managed to view the page now using IE by installing 32 bit java so that's a start.

I'm on 64 bit (just double checked). I agree it's a nightmare to get running. I have a security exception in the java control panel for it, even then it only runs on internet explorer.

Nearest I've been is with Palemoon browser and java 7.

I've downloaded the lot now so if the website goes it's nothing lost.

I think the way to go is create a new windows profile with a dated browser and java 7 or below and use the saved copy of beatingbonuses.

If I get time this weekend I'll have a go at it.

Hi Phil and welcome to Betnod.

I'd forgot all about this since I last posted.
I managed to download the relevant data but need to have a play about with Java when I get a minute to get it going, If I have any success I'll post up in here.

seems to be working fine offline now with the latest firefox.

Extract the attached rar file to a folder then right click the casino game return html file and open with firefox.
Firefox updated for me then ran the calculator no problem.

Slick many thanks for your work and help on this, wish there was something I could do in return.

The website is unbelievably still up and live on the internet but whenever it goes offline this will be mega useful.
