Punter, I don't know if it's any good to you, but I have a PC here you can have, it's a few years old now and obviously not as fast as a new one, but still works fine for general browsing, betting etc. My lad has been using it for a bit after I got my new one, but I bought him a new PC for Xmas so he doesn't need it anymore. I was gonna keep it for spares but I'm happy for you to have it if it's gonna help you out. I think I put a fresh copy of Windows 7 on recently too.

I'm pretty sure I've got a monitor kicking about somewhere too which you can have as well. Let me know and I'll get them down to you **at this point, a cold chill runs down Punter's spine as he shudders at the thought of sending Seen his actual address, but don't worry, he's nothing like his online persona in real life so you have nothing to worry about. Mind, if he was then I'm pretty sure he wouldn't tell you, so he might be after all**

    Let me know anyway.

    :lol

Seen, thank you very much, of course i would trust you with my address. .. I'd trust you with my money too. Unfortunately I have no room for a PC any more. Not since the mrs started filling the house with her stuff :rant
Thanks very much the offer though :thumb

I've started asking about for a second hand laptop, if I get no joy there then I may have to bang a new one on the credit card next month and suffer windows 10 with it.

There's a few other people I know who hAve had similar problems lately and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Microsoft that are forcing us in this direction.

Problem with 2nd hand laptops is that they are almost guaranteed to be running like treacle, that's why people get rid of them. Have I mentioned before that I hate laptops? :p

I think I've seen a few laptops being sold with Windows 7 / 8 but they're quite rare now.

Windows 10 is never going to be on a laptop or desktop in my house. I like to have full control over what is installed/removed on my devices. Maybe I am a dinosaur.

I use Windows 8 on my PC and Windows 7 on my laptop (installed after I fucked the original Windows 10 infested hard drive). Happy with them both so why would I want to change to the horrific Windows 10, Microsoft? :ohwell

If you're going to get a laptop make sure it has 8gb of ram minimum, I had one that was like shit but it fcuked up so bought another to canabilise for parts, with the extra ram it's a different beast running windows 10.
Not had a problem since, probably put the fcuking mockers on myself now.

True, but it'll set you back the best part of a monkey, a few years ago you could get a perfectly decent PC for £200 for general surfing etc but Windows 10 has put paid to that as it is such a drain on resources.

My laptop motherboard was fcuked so I bought the same model with higher spec and damaged screen for £50, my laptop was an older HP pavillion, combining the two and extra ram that came with it, it runs like a dream now, my original laptop wasn't worth more than £60 according to ebay even if it was fully working. so for about a ton I've got a decent machine.

You're right they have shot up in price, cheeky bastards, what's that all about.
you could have got one for half the price with better spec a couple of years ago.

Got 2 options at present. Not sure about windows 8 on the 1st one and the 2nd one is probably either stolen or fucked..

The Lenovo T520 first came out 6 years ago, so it might well be an unwanted Xmas present but I highly doubt it's new. It's probably had 5 owners and runs like a heap of shit.

Punt why don't you just get a copy of windows 7 off ebay for about a fiver and install it on your old laptop.

saying that you might struggle to find drivers knowing you lol, you could get another copy of win 10 for about the same price mind and reinstall it.

have you not got an option when the laptop boots up to do a complete factory reset, some manufacturers give you that option.

    Hi Punt

No idea if this will be any help but here is a link as to how to remove trojan zeus from your laptop

    https://malwaretips.com/blogs/zeus-trojan-virus/

When I had a problem a few years back Malwarebytes were very good at helping

No idea if it is still relevant today though (Technology moves too fast for me nowadays to keep up)

    Good Luck :thumb

Nah Slick. I turn the comp' on, 5 minutes later a shit load of numbers and words I've never heard of comes up...at the bottom it says "not enough space in Runtime area, SMBIOS data will not be available Press F1 to resume"

After that I can go online but only on IE. And only a few sites. And even they are dead slow. It's fucked.

I've been looking at some new ones in Argos £400+ but that would wipe me out for Cheltenham if I got one now so it's going to have to wait.

I will get one at some point after Cheltenham and be back posting shit tiips, shit music and shit jokes again but I'm being ran ragged at work right now and don't have to much time on my hands for anything other than that and family right now.
It's only temporary though, I'll be about again soon after Cheltenham.

    Did you watch the game?

I watched the game Punt..........move on.........

I don't think it's fcuked punt but just needs a bit of TLC.

Do you want to send it to me and I'll sort it out for you, if it's been running windows 10 it can't be that bad a spec.

All I ask is you remove any media that I might be tempted to blackmail you with.

Punter, I take it you're not putting up picks in the tipping comp because of these computer problems? You got any other way to get them to us? Even if you only list the 5 teams, don't worry about the odds, I can copy them over easy enough. Via Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.?
