this is what you get when you log on to bluesq

"Blue Square is now a part of Betfair. Your new account is waiting for you"

got an e-mail this morning informing me that bluesq is now part of betfair

I like bluesq , not so keen about navigating betfair

I went through the proceedure but I made a mistake by entering the "wrong" password [ what I mean is I forgot what I typed in] so ended up having to phone them , they said that they must close the account so they are sending me the balance from the bluesq account to me .

I mentioned I did not get the free bet because of this , so now they've re-opened the other account with a new password so I can have my free bet , £50 which must be used by 19th of April.
My problem is that I cannot read the terms and conditions of the free bet , I realise I can give them a phone but anyone else in a similar position that can help?

The people who were banned from betfair will be overjoyed now then if they had blue square accounts as they will be back on for the time being. Arnt Ladbrokes buying betdaq as well?

It's sort of the opposite though, Ladbrokes have bought the exchange whereas Betfair have bought the clowns at BSQ.

Wouldn't fancy the chances of them forking out for the Blue Square Prem sponsorship next year.

from what I've read Kop, Bsq will be responsible for settling any outstanding bets and you should be getting an email from them soon detailing what your outstanding bets are.

Also, there's an option to refuse a Betfair account and have the balance of ur Bsq account paid back to you if you have money in it.

The good news is that there appears to be a free £25 bet available even though they know I already have a Betfair account because the username they've given me is a variation of my existing one.

I'm surprised by that to be honest

Cnuts!! I never got an email either and have a balance with them, I do have an existing betfair account mind so hopefully It will be transferred over.
You'd have thought we would have got a couple of weeks notice though.

    I got this email today

    Dear Adam,

We have some important information regarding your Blue Square Bet account. Please take a moment to read through it carefully.

As of today, 2nd April 2013, you will no longer be able to bet with Blue Square Bet as we have transferred accounts to Betfair.

We would like to assure you that all funds are perfectly safe and secure. Any unsettled bets will be honoured and settled by Betfair.

Please take a look below at how this may affect you.

    What do I do now?

You now need to activate your new account by going to bluesq.com where you will be asked to enter your existing Blue Square Bet username and password.

Your username is ****************. If you have forgotten your password you will need to call Betfair Customer Services on 0844 871 0000 and they will be able to reset this for you.

    ACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT NOW

What happens to the money I had in my Blue Square Bet account?

Any funds you had in your account, including free bets, bonus cash, promotional funds, ipoints and loyalty points have all been transferred to Betfair. The good news is you will be able to access all funds in full and use these how you wish.

Any withdrawals that have already been made from Blue Square Bet will be processed as normal.

What will happen to my unsettled bets?

If you had any unsettled bets they have been transferred to Betfair. These will be honoured and settled by Betfair with any returns credited to your new Betfair account.

I already have a Betfair account. What happens to me?

You will still need to activate your transferred account with Betfair by entering the username and password you previously used on Blue Square Bet.

You will still be able to log into your existing Betfair account with your existing Betfair login details.

I am unfamiliar with Betfair. Can I still place fixed odds sports bets with them?

Yes. Betfair offer fixed odds betting on all the markets that you have been used to betting on at Blue Square Bet. They also have a betting exchange with further betting options, as well as market-leading Casino, Games, Bingo and Poker products.

For further queries please email bluesquare@betfair.com, call 0844 871 0000 or view more information by clicking here.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for betting with Blue Square Bet and wish you luck in the future.

I tried this but got a message saying there was a problem with my account and to ring the help desk. I spoke to someone there and was told I have to inform them that I want my account re-opened in writing. They told me should be no problem, especially if I mention my Blue Sq account. I've missed Betfair lay prices tbh so i'll sort it out the weekend.
