Anyone playing daily fantasy football? Since Betfair/Paddy Power bought fan duel paddy have integrated it into their site. Tried it for the first time on yesterday’s NFL and was doing pretty well until Cooper got injured on the Sunday Evening game and finished outside the money.

Interested if anyone tried it or have any strategy pointers

Beaically it’s fantasy footballs, but each week/day/match is its own season so you can pick a whole new team each time. There’s various competitions with different buyins. They have all the US Sports, the EPL, and PGA (not sure how that works) it then pays out much like a poker tournament would with 1st getting a big pay out then smaller payments down. Buyins range from £1 into the hundreds.

For example the main NFL game is the £2.5 Million Sunday one is a £9 buy in, first place pays £1 million 2nd 100k 3rd 40k and so on down to everyone from 30,001 to 76,075 winning £15. That’s a full roster foams where you have to pick every position. You also get individual games where you pick 5 or 6 players from 1 match, any position (much like the sky 6 a side - which could be interesting to see if they integrate it after Betfair/paddy power buy skybet/pokerstars)

That sounds good fun, like the concept of it being fresh each week as nothing worse than a season long game when you get off to a shocking start and thats you done

Yeah I’ve never been able to stick with fantasy football I always forget about line ups and end up way behind so I like that I can play when I remember and not worry about forgetting about it a week and it costing me.

They have a couple of free games on paddy power too that might be worth playing in (I mean it’s free so why not?) I also just got a £5 refund from my losses on Sunday, it seems they had a promotion on. Not sure if it’s an ongoing thing but worth a look

This has been a thing in the USA for a while, there was a push to get it implemented in the UK as well with some of the sites coming over. Haven't seen a good and well explained version of it over here yet but perhaps this is it, I have not tried this yet.

My understanding is there are spreadsheets out there which calculate the best picks for any individual game/week/month/competition etc. All the top DFS players use these and anyone without them will have a tough time of it long term.

There are a lot of resources out there, I think you need to be willing to commit though and back all your permutations of lineups, I ended up this week with most of the top scoring players across various lineups, but in trying to be selective and only playing 15 lines missed out on the big money from having them all in one. For next week I think i need to commit to backing all my perms of possible lineups from my player pool and hopefully come away with a big win
