Been struggling to get online these last couple of nights due to virgin fcuking media coming their old tricks again with BB going off for 20 mins then on for 1 min continuously.

happened a few yrs ago and now it's happening again, apparently there's a fault in the area, fcuk knows what they're doing.

Seen did you get that software?

    Nice on.

BB is still playing up, (though it doesn't seem so bad tonight:crossfingers).

Moans phoned Virgin up again last night and they said the problems a bit tricky and will be fixed by the 29th of June:eek

Windows 10 is an absolute cnut of an OS imo. Auto updates you cant stop (Personally I like to be in charge of what goes onto my computer, not some corporation). Invasive personal data collection. In OS ads (I mean wtf). The resetting of settings, such as file associations, back to what Microsoft wants you to have every time the computer is updated. Constant pestering about what ever thing Microsoft want you to do/change to/buy next. This is not a professional, stable and secure OS. It's a complete and total shambles. It is a joke when you have to pay extra to turn features off. If they are so good then why not charge more to be able to turn them on.

What has happened is that Windows has been fundamentally changed. It used to be a product for the consumer. Now it has been turned on its head and the consumer is the product. This is not what I want running on my computer.

I agree with all of that, but there is a way to stop auto-updates, I can't remember off-hand but you'll find it through google. Now mine downloads them but waits until I give the go ahead to install. Beforehand it was ridiculous how my PC would suddenly suffer slowdown when updating without warning, making me think my internet or PC was having problems.

I think you can set yourself to a metered connection if you are using wifi and this will prevent downloading for as long as you keep it like that. As you say you can also now defer the installation of downloaded updates but this is for a max of 30 days at which point they will install if you like it or not.

Have you tried an OS like linux Jezza, Unbuntu and especially Zorin have a windows type shell that is easy to navigate.
They're not loaded either you just download the plugins you need which make the OS rapid speed wise.

Only problem is most developers design everything around windows so I don't know if the poker software you use would run on it. worth looking into though if you're not happy with Windows.

I've made my machine dual boot which is pretty simple and gives you the best of both worlds.

Yeah slick my strategy at the moment is to cling to Windows 7 like it's the eternal OS to rule them all. Fcuk knows what I am going to do when the two laptops I have die :lol. Linux etc would be all right I guess. Defo never getting W10 unless they give control of the system back to the owner though. I dont't play any poker online these days so software compatability not really an issue.

I've never met anybody who didn't like Windows 7 because it was an improvement and very similar to the fantastic Windows xp.

So why when everybody's happy they decide give it a complete overhaul I'll never know, saying that I remember when I thought windows 3.1 was the ultimate os:lol

I'm still on Windows 7 Professional, no updates etc, battery wont charge behind 17% and it freezes and needs rebooting at least twice a night. It's been like that for almost two years. I keep saying it's about to die but it keeps going and has done me well.
I still think it sounds better than Windows 10

My computer finally died last night. Trojan Zeus and Crypto something or other virus to name just 2 of 5.

They're that bad even Google Chrome tells me to fuck off and won't open up for me.
IE let's me have 2 minutes before freezing my screen and Microsoft keeps shouting " ffs Punt call us free to sort this shit out" through my speakers.

I'll still be looking in and hitting a few 'likes' but I CBA to be typing to often through my phone.
I can't see me getting a new comp anytime soon so apologies I'll no longer be able to post up the odds for the competition

Has it died or just crippled with a virus or trojan?

Have you tried going into safemode and doing a system restore?
    or running superantispyware?

I've ran superantispyware and it says it's fine, but it's not.
Managed to get Chrome up for a short while and it was ok on bbc sport and fantasy football but as soon as I come on Betnod, the moment I try to scroll down ads start flying up. Mainly ads for Erithium. Then ads like re image repair and anti virus pop ups follow

Use those instructions to get shot of Zeus. Might help get rid of others too.

You'll probably need another PC / laptop to download the anti-virus programs though and then transfer over, maybe you can get them to download and install using safe mode with networking.

Laptops are fucking garbage, man, unless you're willing to pay top whack for them.

I've smashed up three of the fuckers in the last 18 months through sheer anger at their incompetence :lol The first one was Mrs Seen's which I was using, she was not best pleased when she saw it lying there in a broken mess. She had a nerve complaining considering it was me who bought it. Admittedly it was a birthday present for her, but she hardly used it anyway :p

So I went off to PC World to buy a new one, paid £300 for a HP one, decent reviews for basic computing, which is all I needed it for, anyway it was fucking shite. All I wanted it to do was stream some shitty quality horse racing live video and it couldn't even do that with buffering and stuttering and cutting out completely. It wasn't my internet connection/speed as my PC which was sitting right next to it ran the same video perfectly well.

After one loss too many due to the shiteness of the laptop I kicked it's fucking head in. Gave it a right good hiding, I did. I can take losing money when gambling perfectly well but not when it's caused by something out of my hands, by something not working like it should. There was nothing on the laptop to cause problems either, I installed Chrome and NOTHING else, deleted all of the pre-installed crap that came bundled with it too, it was brand new and should have run like a well-oiled machine.

Anyway, it went off and when I tried to reboot it the hard drive couldn't be found. The mousepad wasn't working too well either :lookaround Took it back to PC World and played ignorant..."it just stopped working!"...it got sent off to be repaired free of charge. Got it back a couple of weeks later, seemed okay at first, in fact seemed considerably better, but soon it was back to be FUCKING SHITE again :banghead

Once again, after it cost me money by being a heap of shite, I punched it to fuck again. I even hit it where I knew the hard drive was (bottom right) to fuck it up. Job done, hard drive failure again :lol Couldn't be arsed taking it back again so bought a new hard drive and stuck it in and installed Windows 8 on instead of the abomination that is Windows 10 which was on originally. Surprise surprise, this works much better (still not perfect though, like it should be) and has so far evaded my wrath.

So Punt, if you want to feel a whole lot better, get a hammer and smash the little bastard to fuck :thumb
