Odds look about right considering Englands home advantage but I'm scared of saying much more in case I put the mockers on it

Saying that Italy have looked class throughout the comp until they came up against Spain where they looked a bit jaded and have had the tougher games overall.
As mentioned, without home advantage for England, Italy would be red hot favourites.

I was 50/50 whether to take Monday off work today, now I'm probably more 70/30 lol.

This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of us to see England lift a trophy so I probably will go full throttle.

I was around in 66` when we won the WC but only a baby at the time.

Win this time around though and I'm in no doubt we'll go on a run and win more trophies because we have some great young talent coming through and could become one of the more successful established International teams.
These youngsters have been mopping trophies up at youth level, If we can make the breakthrough at top International level then the future looks very bright.

I'm not talking about this England team per se, but the younger elements of it.
If we do manage to win on Sunday it I really do think the future is bright for the next generation.

I won't put it down to Southgate though as he wouldn't last 5 mins in any Prem club but the quality of the English players coming through Prem clubs at the moment.

Without trying to sound big headed, Man City have a lot to do with that as they have shaped the way most teams play these days (albeit we copied it from Barca) aka possession football.
Apart from pickford I've never seen an England team so comfortable with the ball , all the top teams are now playing that way, although Utd are playing catchup but getting there lol.

What's surprised me most is that most Prem teams now play out from the back but England struggle to do so, well doesn't really surprise me because again that is down to Pickford who would rather hoof it.


I'll admit we've been lucky in recent comps fixture wise and as ODM say's far from best team in the world, but we've got around 6 or 7 great young players in this squad that in two or three yrs time will be at another level, those along with the some cracking youth players coming through, hopefully by then we'll have a progressive keeper too.

I was glad to see England doing this at the tournament, mixing it up, both playing out from the back and hoofing it down field. I think prem clubs have gone too far in always insisting it starts from playing it out from the back. Nice to see it being mixed up a bit.

I thought Italy were the best team in the tournament, i was pleased England did so well but just because we finished runners up i still wouldn't have us as the second best team there. I'm pretty sure both France and Spain would of beat us but credit to the England for making the most of mostly home games.

A lot of great performances from our team, Sterling, Shaw, Rice, Pickford, Maguire were all on their best game but if i had to name an England player of the tournament i'd give it to Kalvin Phillips, who looked like he'd been playing for England for years.
