    4.40 Brighton - Mister X 8/1 (365)
A few look as though they could take a hand in this one but im siding with the only course winner in the field MISTER X , on paper i'd say a couple at least look better propositions but the fact that the selection is the only runner to have won here certainly helps his chances imho. Ran a stinker last time at Newmarket , that was his first run after being gelded so hopefully better can be expected this afternoon. Wears cheekpieces for the first time today and i couldnt help noticing that he is now 2lb below his last winning mark , it also came to my attention that hes dropping in class , has been running in class 4 and class 5's but now drops to a class 6 , which he hasnt run in since November of last year ... which he won. Trainer Stuart Williams brings just this one here today and he knows the time of day , has a 15% strike rate in the last couple of weeks , and is 100% when sending them here this season , overall he has a 20.6% strike rate here along with a profit of +£13.95 , so for me anything he sends here warrants respect. Jockey Luke Catton also here for just this one , good value for his 5lb claim , and has a 17% strike rate in the last fortnight , and like the trainer has a 100% strike rate here this term , and overall he has an eyecatching 41.7% strike rate plus a tasty +£26.20 profit , so certainly knows his way round Brighton , and when trainer and jockey have teamed up over the last three weeks they come away with a 33% strike rate. At the price i think hes well worth a punt.

    4.55 Redcar - Kodebreaker 4/1 (365)
Think KODEBREAKER can go well in this one , beaten by the re opposing Premiership by 1/2 length last time out , i think he can turn the tables here this afternoon off the same mark. Has been in decent form lately , holding his form well , has only been out of the first three once in his last outings. One from one here at Redcar , and has won and placed four times from nine runs. Tom Eaves has been riding the horse lately but Jason Hart on board this afternoon , which is a plus in my book , one from one when hes ridden the horse. Trainer Michael Herrington has just this one at the meeting , not been in the best of form to be honest but i wouldnt scrub the horse purely because of that , luck has to change sometime after all. Definatley in with a shout.

    2.00 Yarmouth - Arlos Sunshine 11/4 (365,Hills,SkyBet,BFred)
Like the look of ARLOS SUNSHINE in this one , comes into this on the back of a sound effort over this afternoons CD when a length and three quarters third to Free Step , the second from that race Revolutionary Man has run well since , only going down by a head next time out. The horse has been running well since returning from a break at the end of March - 8,1,4,5,3. Caught my eye that hes only a lb over his last winning mark , and that he has won from higher .. added to that is the fact he seems to like it here at Yarmouth with two wins and two places from his six runs over CD , in fact those two wins are his only wins on turf to date. It was also noted that Jamie Spencer was back on board , rode the horse last time out , and has two places from his two rides. Has a healthy strike rate of 19.1% when riding here at Yarmouth . Trainer only has two at the meeting today and both are in this race , the other one being the rank outsider Roaring River , has a 20% strike rate overall when sending his horses here. Cant see him being far away when it matters.

    5.00 Yarmouth - Harbour Vision 4/1 (Hills,SkyBet,BFred) - Crack Regiment 3/1 (365)
A couple in this catch my eye , first one is joint top weight CRACK REGIMENT , who comes into this on the same mark as when a solid head second at Kempton a couple of weeks ago. That run came after 102 days off so hopefully that will have blown the cobwebs away and have him spot on for this today. Has placed on his only start here and though he hasnt won at the distance yet i dont think its for the want of trying. Cieran Fallon up for the first time and he has a 13% strike rate over the last three weeks , whilst trainer Henry Spiller sends just this one out today and has a respectable enough 10.4% strike ratewhen sending them to the course along with a profit of +£20.33. All things being equal if he runs as well as he did last time out he should be bang there. The other one i like is HARBOUR VISION , who ran his best race for a while when just touched off over CD last time out , beaten a short head by Thapa VC , if in the same sort of mood as he was then he can definatley be in the shake up come the line imho. He hasnt won for a while , but you couldnt write him off especially if he runs like he did last time and also as he arrives 2lb well in here (plus his jocks claim to boot). Has run well on both starts over CD placing in both. Scott Dixons' current form is a bit of a concern if im being honest but he knows how to ready one and it wouldnt come as a great shock to see this one go in , so fingers crossed , jockey Elisha Whittington helps the cause by taking 5lb off and has won on the horse before. If on a going day can definatley be involved at the business end of things.

    6.40 Market Rasen - Leneblane 4/1 (365)
LENEBLANE has yet to win a race under rules in seven attempts but i think that her first win is on the horizon , hopefully this evening as it happens ! , going by effort last time out. Ran a decent race on her handicap debut last time out over this evenings CD , that was a solid run after a lay off of 76 days , and im hoping that a repeat effort is on the cards here which would have to give her every chance in this. Its also a plus in my book that she comes into this off a 2lb lower mark. She wore first time cheekpieces in that last time out race and the trainer has retained them today , along with her usual tongue strap. Another major plus in my book is the fact that Brian Hughes is booked to ride for the first time , has a 19.2% strike rate in the last four weeks and does well her at Market Rasen with a 17% strike rate overall. Trainer Rebecca Menzies sends just this to the course from her Durham base , has been amongst the winners of late with a 17% strike rate over the last fortnight and generally does well with her runners round here with a 17.4% strike rate overall. As a maiden comes with risks attached obviously but i think she can go close here with a top jock onboard.

    5.22 Ripon - Flavius Titus 20/1 (Hills,BFred)
The nicely priced FLAVIUS TITUS is the one for me in this one , others come in to the race with better credentials it has to be said but i think the selection could pop up at a decent price if putting his best foot forward. Came plum last of fifteen when last seen at Thirsk a week ago but can be forgiven that run as was returning to action from 179 days off , and looking through his record has never gone well after a lay off , plus the ground was soft that day and hes never ran well with those underfoot conditions , this afternoons better ground should be alot more to his liking as all his wins have come on good and good to firm. Won on his only start over CD , that came last September off todays mark , and has won off much higher in the past. Trainer has a 25% strike rate here at Ripon overall and sends just this one out today , gotta be honest and say i dont know too much about him. Claimer William Pyle also here for just this one and takes off a handy 7lb , first time on the horse , hes a decent enough jock on his day and hopefully he can help boot this one home.

    1.10 Carlisle - Willing To Please 11/4 (365,Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads) - Dandys Angel 7/1 (Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
Two for me in this apprentice handicap , firstly WILLING TO PLEASE whose been in decent form of late , has been third on last two starts , most recent of those at Hamilton a couple of weeks ago when beaten by Our Dickie by a length and three quarters , and before that at the beginning of May she was beaten by Premiership at Pontefract. Seems to like it here at Carlisle with two wins and a third from her three runs here. Has never run over todays trip but going by her last two races definatley worth a go at it looking at her last race over slightly shorter than todays distance as she was closing all the way to the line. Has three career wins on the turf , two here as ive said , and it caught my eye that these wins have come off higher than her mark of 50 today. Phil Kirby knows how to ready one , and he has a 16.2% strike rate over the last month , whilst 5lb claimer Madi Padzelt gets the leg up on only start of the day. Should be in the mix. DANDYS ANGEL is the other one i like , hasnt been in sparkling form but hasnt been running too badly overall tbh , was a fair enough 6th of 11 lto at Beverley. Has never won here at Carlisle but always seems to run well enough , three places from four runs over todays CD and five places from seven runs overall at the course , thats quite good form at the course without actually getting her head in front but its gonna happen here one day and im hoping that today is that day. Is now just 1lb higher than her last winning mark which has to give her a shout in a race of this nature imho. John Wainwright sends just this one to the meeting , whilst jockey Brandon Wilkie also arrives for just this one , knows the horse well enough having ridden her seven times to date , winning once and placing in a further three. Can go close here i think.

    4.45 Carlisle - Saisons D'Or 16/1 (365,Hills) - Gunnerside 3/1 (365,Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
Another race where two of the runners appeal , firstly joint top weight SAISONS D'OR who i think can go well at a decent price , has ran poorly the last twice but before that beat Mabre by a neck at Southwell over todays distance , if he can recapture that sort of form then he will certainly be in with a shout here. Has been running on the all weather since returning from a break back in March but is equally at home on the turf so ive no worries on the switch. Horse has placed on his sole start at the course to date. Distance no problem as he has won seven times and placed a further three times from 23 runs , whilst the going too is no problem. Caught my eye that he has dropped down to class 6 from a class 5 , he usually plies his trade in class 4-5 races , and that he has won two of three class 6 races hes particpated in. Trainer Jed O'Keefe has just this runner as his sole representative on the card today and he's been in decent form of late with a 25% strike rate over the last couple of weeks , and has a 100% strike rate when running them here this term , jockey Jack Garrity also here for just this one and he too has been amongst the winners of late with a 20% strike rate in the last three weeks , knows the horse inside out having ridden him 43 times , resulting in 7 wins and 11 places. If arriving in tip top condition i think he can go close at a nice price. GUNNERSIDE is my other selection , has been pretty consistent overall and usually gives his running and more often than not is there or thereabouts. Ran a bit below par when 6th of 8 at Wolverhampton last time but in his penultimate race beat Code Purple by 5 lengths at Mussleburgh over todays distance. Is one from one at Carlisle , and over todays distance has won twice and placed once from four runs. Like the other selection also seems to do well in class races with seven wins and six places from eighteen runs. Grant Tuer has just this one here today , has a 16% strike rate over the last two weeks , and does well overall when sending his runners here with a 19% strike rate. Oliver Stammers gets the leg up , and he has three wins on the horse from his five rides , and when he and the trainer have teamed up over the last three weeks they have a 10% strike rate. Should be making his presence felt.

    3.20 Epsom - Ancient Times 10/1 (365,Coral,BFred,Lads) - Mokaatil 9/1 (365,Hills,Coral,Lads)
Open looking class 2 5f handicap where a case could be made for at least half the field if not more , but two stand out for me and i'm happy enough with the prices to have a pop at them. ANCIENT TIMES is the first one , progressive looking sort who had a good season last term winning twice and placing twice in six runs , made a pleasing enough re appearance last time out after 231 days off , coming fourth at Newmarket , looked as though he needed the run on that outing and im pretty sure he'll strip fitter for that run and better can be expected here this afternoon. Won on his sole start here at Epsom so track shouldnt be a problem , that was over 6f , but is just at home over the minimum , winning three times and placing in two from ten runs over the distance. Wore a tongue strap for the first time in his last outing and trainer has retained that today. Has won on the ground and has also won and placed in the grade (one win and one place from three runs) , Harry Eustace has been in great form lately with a 22% strike rate over the last two weeks , and does well when sending his runners here with a 33% strike rate overall. Jockey Kaiya Fraser is good value for his 7lb claim and is here for just this one ride and hes been in flying form at the moment with a 43% strike rate in the last fortnight , first time up on the horse but when he and the trainer have paired up over the last three weeks they've got a 42% strike rate. Everything looks set for a decent run to me. The other selection is MOKAATIL who won this back in 2021 and came fourth in last years renewal so definatley knows his way round here , as his record over CD suggests ... two wins and a place from four runs and at the course overall , five runs have resulted in three wins and a place , so definatley seems to have a liking for it at Epsom. Fair to assume that he needed the run last time out after 191 days off , and now hes had that first run of the season and hes back at a track he clearly loves i think a good showing can be expected , also saw that he has the cheek pieces back on after having them left off last time out. Back down to his last winning mark , has won off higher , so that stood out for me , Irish claimer Sean D Bowen in the saddle for the first time and aids the cause with his 7lb claim , trainer Ian Williams can ready one and i think theres every chance of him going well today.

    5.40 Doncaster - Key Look 22/1 (Hills,SkyBet)
To me this 6f handicap looks wide open , and as such im gonna plump for the nicely priced KEY LOOK , who i think could well take a hand in this given the breaks. On first look you'd have to say she looks up against it , and didnt show much for her new trainer , Paul Midgely , on her re appearance after 130 days off when 11th of 12 at Southwell last time out , but in all fairness she probably would of needed that outing and now shes blown the cobwebs away i think a better run could well be on the cards. It also would of given the new trainer time to have a good look at her and decide whats best and where to go etc .. and he's decided to drop her down to 6f for the first time in her career , it could be that hes just seeing how she does over the trip or maybe its because hes spotted something that gives him the idea that this distance would better suit , hes a shrewd trainer and im hoping that theres a good reason for this drop in trip , especially as 22s is available (though i have an idea she may drift). Had one run here at Donny and placed , going shouldnt be a problem and she looks nicely berthed to me. Shes now a lb below her last winning mark which caught my eye and bolsters my confidence a little. Also caught my eye that the trainer has booked Callum Rodriguez to ride for the first time , bang in form at the moment with a 22% strike rate over the last three weeks , whilst the trainer sends just this one to the meeting , hes been in good form as well with a 20% strike rate in the last fortnight. Obviously theres a few in the race you'd have to worry about but i think that the price is just too big to ignore and as such is worth a punt.

    8.45 Lingfield - Lunar Shadow 7/1 (Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads) - Glenister 11/8 (365)
Gonna go with a couple in this one , the first selection is GLENISTER who comes into this on the back of a 2 3/4 length victory here at Leafy over 1m2f , was coming back from wind surgery and 256 days off so that was a solid run , and i think that better can be expected here tonight. Turned out again quickly , that win came three days ago , and looks to be a typical Mark Prescott type improver to me , and i think he'll come on for that initial outing and appreciated the step up in distance , has run over it a couple of times before placing once , is two from two here at Lingfield and despite having a 5lb penalty i think he should go very close here. Trainer sends just this one out to the meeting and given his form at the moment has to be taken seriously , has a 53% strike rate over the last three weeks , jockey Thore Hammer Hansen gets the ride and hes two from three aboard the horse , like the trainer hes been enjoying a purple patch at the present time with a 31% strike rate over the last fortnight , and when the pair have teamed up over the last three weeks they have a 75% strike rate. The other selection is LUNAR SHADOW who i think could well be the one to be the fly in the ointment , just touched off by a short head last time at Chelmsford last time , he won on his last visit to Leafy , three races ago , over todays CD , the form of that race is working out quite well with the second and third going in since. Seems to like it here at Lingfield having never been unplaced at the course , two wins and a place from three runs over CD and two wins / two places from four outings at the course overall. Alan King sends just this one to the course today , 16% strike rate over the last fortnight , and a big plus for me anyway is the booking of Rossa Ryan for the first time , 18% strike rate in the last three weeks and when teaming up with the trainer over the same period they come away with a 25% strike rate. Sure to be in the firing line.

    Wednesday 7th June

    8.25 Kempton - Moving Light 9/1 (365,Hills,Coral,BFred,Lads) - Winterwatch 10/1 (365)
Open looking handicap where a few of the runners look to hold chances , but i like the look of a couple at decent prices who could go close if they're on a going day , first one up us MOVING LIGHT , whose making his return to action after 312 days off , normally such a lengthy lay off would put me off a bit but hes with a stable who knows whats what so im happy enough to have him onside in this plus he has won after a break before. For a 6 year old hes very lightly raced having only had 5 races to date , which makes me think he could well have had problems , has been gelded whilst away from the race course so hopefully trainer has him sorted now and he can get off to a flyer. One from one over todays CD , and sole runner for Saeed Bin Suroor who has just this one at the meeting tonight , been in tip top form of late with a 33.3% strike rate over the last four weeks , along side a profit of +£23.50. Has an overall strike rate of 26% when sending runners here so anything he runs warrants a second look imo. Hayley Turner in the saddle for the first time , been in decent form over the last three weeks with a 15% strike rate and has done well when riding at Kempton this term with a 17.6% strike rate. For me , things point to a decent effort from the selection at what i'd consider a nice price. WINTERWATCH is the other one on the shortlist , like the other selection is coming back from a lay off , 317 days on the flat , but did have a spin over hurdles in October of last year coming second , again the lay off doesnt concern me too much as he usually runs a decent race on his return - has won on his sole start here and has run well over todays distance , winning once and placing twice in his four runs over it. Noticed that this one has an entry for the Northumberland Plate so im hoping that this isnt just a prep run .. Harry Fry is a trainer i rate , hasnt had any runners for a couple of weeks and this is his only runner today , does okay when sending his runners here with an 18% strike rate overall. Jockey David Egan on board for the first time and been amongst the winners lately with a 19% strike rate in the past fortnight. Definatley worth a go at the 10s currently on offer i think.

    7.40 Ripon - Intrinsic Bond 5/1 (Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads) - Twelfth Knight 8/1 (365,Hills,Coral,SkyBet,BFred,Lads)
Two again in this one , where again a case could be made for a few of the runners , top weight INTINSIC BOND is the first one , ran a stormer last time out when just touched off by a head by Hyperfocus here at Ripon over 5f. That was the best hes shown in his three races since coming back from a lay off , and hopefully he can improve on that effort here this evening , does have a 2lb rise in the weights to contend with but on the flip side he is down in class slightly which could well help , hasnt won off a mark this high it has to be said which is slightly off putting as is the fact hes not the most consistent but looking through his record he does tend to hit patches of form and im hoping that this will be one of them. Tracey Waggott hasnt been in the best of form admittedly but shes adept with her sprinters so im happy enough to have this one on my side especially as this one is her sole runner on the card , whilst jockey Connor Beasley gets the ride and he has two wins and two places from his five rides aboard the horse to date and when trainer and jockey have pooled their talents in the past three weeks they have a 33% strike rate. If coming into this in the same sort of form as when last seen should be bang there come the finish. TWELFTH KNIGHT is the other horse i like for this , has been flying since joining Ruth Carrs' yard from Archie Watson .. in his three runs since joining his new yard his figures read - 1,8,1 .. That last time out run was a solid effort , beating the re opposing Fortamour by a length over CD , and in all honesty i think it could of been a further. One from one over CD , he'll like the ground and should go well again in the hunt for the follow up. Trainer Ruth Carr has been in decent form for most of the season and over the last coupla weeks she has a 14% strike rate , and when sending her runners to Ripon this term she has a 60% strike rate along with a profit of +£8.24. James Sullivan in the plate and hes ridden the horse in all three starts for his new yard , so two wins from three rides. When coming to Ripon this season he has a 15.4% strike rate. Should be in the mix when it matters and worth a punt at the price i think.
