Slovenia have chosen Eva Boto with ‘Verjamem’ to represent the country at Eurovision 2012.

It’s another dramatic song entering the fray, which is a welcome relief from the dance songs. How often can we say that?

As for the song… well it has many weaknesses and is nowhere near as strong as Maja Keuc’s effort from last year. With some drastic changes to the arrangement, the song could be strong, but in its current form, it just meanders aimlessly. And why is there such focus on a woman with a net on her head going ‘ahhh ahhhh ahhhh’? Why is she there?

    It’s a strange one.

first impression says non-qualifier, but i felt the same about maja last year then made a lot of money on her qualification, so i'll give it a chance to grow. needs better presentation though. it won't do anything in the final as maja didn't with a stronger song. slovenia don't have enough friends... but as i'm typing and listening i am detecting some potential...

In various plaes I've heard people say Slovenia wont qualify. For me it's like 70-75% (ballpark) qualifier. It's quite high on many polls, and the market right now seems to think it will qualify. And I agree with the market right now.. With right presentation this can be awesome! it's true they dont have friends, but I would like to think jury likes this? :O

Still think its in the precarious position performing from first in the running order and being immediately followed by Croatia. The Slavic/Balkan vote can only stretch so far.

There's another version here:I got excited when I noticed the women with bridesmaids' hats were absent, but you could still hear one on the backing track and the instrumentalists were so timid..

Steve, I just can't take this song seriously after watching the misheard lyrics version. Is she actually singing live in that last video?
I still think this song has a mountain to climb being drawn first in the second half of semi 2 and immediately followed by Croatia. which is more contemporary sounding.

Well here she is singing live. the crashing piano chords make it a top 5 final finisher in my opinion if they go with this arrangement..true the Slovenian vote is unpredictable..it makes me think of the days of the Eurovision orchestra, which would have suited this entry down to the ground, and takes me back to Vicky Leandros 1972,which I remember as if it were yesterday..

lol I remember doing something similar yrs ago when we first made a Eurovision forum, I gave a review of all the songs and made up my own words, wasn't as posh as that though as it was pre Youtube days.

It doesn't sound too bad when it's orchestrated but the live version is terrible.

Eva should qualify but I sense in her body language she's not particularly happy with the way this entry has been choreographed.

how did you make such assessment about her body language? I think it's a solid entry and likely qualifier.

It's Molitva without any climax choreography-wise,the women in white are superfluous;I would have preferred a pianist on stage with two groups of backing singers dimly lit who could actually sing.
