Could have been alot worse for the czechs - was a good game starting to look to tomorrows round now

Backed Holland HT -1 Handicap with paddy @ 5/1 looking for more thinking 3-1 and 4-1 scorelines but i'll do some more looking about tomorrow. Expecting a high scoreline though, One of the reason's i've backed Holland to qualify over Portugal is that they usually peak to early in these comps and can't seem to carry that on

Germany vs Portugal - expect this to be a cracker with the German's winning 2-0 or 2-1 might look at the FT handicap, I'm going to look into podolski's form as well as he tends to get his share of goals so see what odds for anytime goalscorer.

Holland -1 @ 6's is a real tempter Polty, I might just have some of that myself, I'm normally wary of first round games as teams to play it cagey but in this group no side can afford any slip ups from the off.
Holland though have goals written all over them hence the reason I like your bet.

I'm also looking forward to Germany v Portugal and am expecting a similar scoreline to your own, I thought todays football was great and I'm hoping tomorrows surpasses it, looking at those fixtures it should do.

What a pile of................Denmark defisively quite strong. Need to say though Holland need to step up to the mark if they are going to take anything from this game. Bring on Huntelaar !!!

Created enough chances; they just seem a little too "relaxed" to me. Time to grit the teeth and get a little angry. Couple of Holland goals definitely wouldn't be a shock. Another Denmark goal wouldn't surprise me much either mind.

Only bet for me today is 0-0 HT Eire v Croatia. Needless to say I'm expecting a tight game here.

Due to a high loss from the dutch game and a fortunate goal from Gomez, I'm now sitting back at just 10 points up. so going to put that to good use. Been looking at the Spain vs Italy game i'm going for a draw. Both teams have good records in tourneys Italy's form is never overlly good heading into a tourney, I think this will end a draw as Spain scorelines are usually quite tight against big nations and I can't see them scoring alot without Villa and I believe Llorente is now a better striker than Torres. If there is a goal then it will go Spains way.
History points to Italy though Spain have a record of W8 D11 L10 all-time versus Italy, but seven of those victories have come in friendly matches.

    my bet's are 0-0 draw 11/2 and 1-0 Spain 9/2

Is that supposed to be a good thing mate? I don't think I've ever seen a player waste so much possession and fire so many shots off target as Pavlyuchenko does. I agree the Russians are a good bet though

After the last game ODM I'm sure he missed no less than 5-6 sitters. Yeah I know Pavlyuchenko wastes alot and has alot of shots off target but he seriously bolted Russia's 4th into the net the on fri night. Biggest problem i saw with him then was greedy with the ball (esspecialy at the goal). He didn't want to pass it, giving i'm putting points on it I would rather have Pav rather than Kerzhakov if that's( vs Czech) his best performance in front of goal.

Spot on. If he was in a three v one situation he would rather blast the ball straight at the defender than slip it to a colleague to score. He's a greedy, wasteful twat.

Cracking game in the end and the result was about right.
Can't say the same about the Greece game, fell alseep with about 20 mins to go.

The groups set up nicely now for a great finish.

That was an uncomfortable 90 mins and I had to keep telling myself 'you weren't expecting much of this England side anyhow' on numberous occassions whilst watching it.
It was hard though as I also kept thinking 'I could get 11 lads together to beat this lot'!! as Sweden are shite.

Ang how the fcuk Lawrenson came to the conclusion Glen Johnson was the best defender on the pitch I'll never know, he's one huge disaster waiting to happen. Hodgson should have swallowed his pride and called up Richards as soon as Kyle Walker was ruled out or at least shove Phil Jones in there asap.
I think we also saw tonight that Terry is over the hill, not that that comes as much of a shock to most of us here on Betnod as we agreed in the main he should have never been picked in the first place but him and Johnson side by side leave a large weakness on that side of the defence.
Walcott made the difference tonight but it's going to cause a big problem in the next game if he starts due to Johnsons knack of getting out of position, hence Milner getting the nod of late as he provides more cover than Walcott, that obviously shows Hodgson is aware of the problem and a lot of naivety on his part.

As I said I'm not expecting much of this England side but I'm annoyed about the problems we currently have that could have been so easily addressed, It wouldn't have won us the comp but it would have made nights like tonight a lot easier.

Still I'll be happy enough should we manage to get past the group stage as that was the best I was expecting but in the same breath should we come up against the likes of Spain or Germany playing like we did tonight it could prove to be one huge embarassment.
Saying that we have to get passed Ukraine yet which will be a task and half, player for player we have the advantage and of course Rooney will be back but England don't know how to do things the easy way.
