Liverpool have got to get some practise at beating someone, somehow and in a game where BR would no doubt choose to rest as many players as he possibly could, the worst start to a campaign for.....ever(?) will mean that he will be keen to get a positive result ASAP - plus winning one of the cups will slightly deflect the mass of criticism he's going to get for finishing in the bottom half of the table this season. We all know how liverpool fans can be distracted from the important issues if you stick a shiny trophy in front of them.

On the other side of the coin, they have yet more injury problems plus WBA are no pushovers at the best of time. I'm hoping that they may be the ones to rest some players and that the young talent that Liverpool fans keep saying they have at the club are actually going to make an appearance.

Liverpool's price is on the drift - I'll take 10/11 for the DNB when it gets there.

Team news is vital, none more so than at OT. I can see yernited resting as many as they can so if Pardew fancies a result here and there's no reason he should not , he may field a strong eleven. That's a big 'if' mind as they have Reading away just 3 days later.
You could say the same about city too , we will definately make 11 changes BUT Villa are so poor I wouldn't go near them.

Soton look large at 1.80, surely they will want to keep winning and Wednesday are very poor at the moment, 4 straight loses

Think Villa will play as strong a team as he dares, but even with 11 changes City should be too strong. There'll be a reaction from the Soton defeat though, so its a game I'd totally avoid tbh.
Totally agree regarding Newcastle but its a wait for team news one.
Ones that stick out to me at glancing across would be: Sunderland have a strong enough squad to get away with resting some & winning @ MK Dons. Think Soton may make changes & think Sheff Weds could get a result, &, cue laughter, the Coventry players will be looking to impress Robins as a new manager & Wenger will make lots of changes. Wouldnt be surprised at a sniff of an upset there

I don't think BR will play many of his first team players ODM but even so they have some good kids coming through as their win against Young boys last week shown.
Rodgers likes to bring through his youth players and I'll be very suprised to see anything other than the team that played last Thursday night.

Agree with United too Keema as the Newcastle price was the first to jump out at me, like you ay though team news is vital.

I'm on a Sunderland/Sheff Weds double, which if it wins will fund a Europe bet

Congratulations too for last night Swoops, Villa were worthy winners and we had some decent players out on the pitch so there are no excuses from our side, hopefully it's the kick up the arse we need and it might persuade Mancini to stop tinkering with the formation.
