    Redcar 4.30. Royal Holiday e/w @ 10/1

My biggest concern is whether it will be genuine soft ground. If it eases to g/s, it will certainly help the bulk of the opposition, particularly Mr Cool Cash, who is held by the pick, but looks best over 7f. Just Paul is another who is out of form but well treated on old form.

Royal Holiday does have opponents that also want to lead but his 3/30 stat on turf looks much better when filtering down to soft ground becomes 3/11 and a further 2 places. 2lb higher than best win, but looks on decent form and Makin ( 3 wins on horse) who won on him when last on board.

Probably best with a back to lay but I've gone e/w

3:05 Downpatrick - TURFJAGER - Multiple winner on the flat over in France, but patchy in all his Irish hurdles. Best form may well be his 100/1 5th and does have ability. Went off FAV last time when tailed off and short again today.

5:30 Haydock - LADY OF YUE - Useful sort at maybe a slightly lower level and IMO well worth a crack at 2m. Competitive race for the distance, but still some merit in this one at 14's.

5:55 Downpatrick - CHARLESTOWN BOY - Encouraging debut, but followed this up with a shocker. Hard to know what to make off him, but nicely bred and the stable does well in Bumpers ( albeit from a small sample size ) Drift to 50's, just makes him too big.

7:20 Wolverhampton - SNOW DANCER - Definitely a favourite of mine and looks a danger off this mark, back in a class 7.

7:35 Dundalk - LAKE CHAMPLAIN - Patchy flat form, but comes here on the back of a nice hurdle win,. Trainer spoke afterwards about reverting to the flat and really should prove himself as being better than his mark of 71.

3:10 Haydock - BANDIT BOB and HIGH RANKING - Just gone with these 2 " rags " BB will be better over further, but has some appeal at 25's. HR should prove better than his first 2 runs and comfortable taking a chance at 50's.

Got my favourite South African track to bet on as well and will be interesting to see if they can run the races at the scheduled 20 minute intervals. I seem to remember they once tried it at Dundalk with 25 minutes in between races and this failed miserably -

5:15 Greyville - CLASS CHIC and DESTINY'S JEWEL - CC is the stables only runner on the card and has been performing well of late. Does have a bit to find with the FAV, but not sure this justifies Bet365's early 16/1. DJ Looks nicely enough bred and has an interesting jockey up for her bebut.

5:35 Greyville - MIGHTY MISSISSIPI - FAV looks short for a debutante and MM has shown a fair level of form in all 3 starts to date.

5:55 Greyville - ALLENBY PARK - Capable sort on his day and has gone well fresh in the past. Good jockey booked and EW appeal at 16's.

6:15 Greyville - Decide to have a decent go at this race, by siding with 4 and looking for the combination FC / TC -

DARK LIABILITY ( No luck with the draw again and been a while for this one. H'capper does give him a shout though )
AUTHORICE ( Has had his issue, but remains a lightly raced 5yo, who has the plum draw to go with his ability )
ROCKY BAY ( 24 week break to over come, but good record at the track and has bagged the 2 stall )
READY FOR TAKE OFF ( Recent form reads well in the context of this race and should get involved off a low weight )

6:35 Greyville - SKY CASTLE and KHONZA - SC needed the run badly last time and holds some fair form before that. No world beater, but don't get the early 20's in a 6 runner field. KHONZA won well last time and interesting with Anthony Delpech up at this new trip.

6:55 Greyville - DELLAVERA and STAR ATTRACTION - D'V continues to disappoint and no luck with the draw again. Do fell the ability is there though and half a chance in this field. SA, has it to do at the weights, but likes to lead and has the one stall. Could not entirely rule out at 33's.

7:15 Greyville - AVARICIOUS - Bit better last time after a couple of quiet 'un's and Sean Veale re takes the ride. Only previous effort over this trip reads well and EW shout at 20's from stall 3.

7:35 Greyville - QUINTELLA - Flew home last time for 2nd and often runs his race. Similar effort today would see her go clsoe and there looks to be plenty of pace in the race, so it should be run to suit. Capable apprentice aboard and the 5's loos about right.

Got a surprise this morning to find it got the place money, as I thought he was certain to be caught for the place.
