Don't know much about him mate but the way results have been going lately suppose it makes sense to have a shake up now and try and get something out of the season before you end up mid table with nothing to play for.
Who's favourite to replace him? suppose Pearson will be looking for a new job, I don't like the fella but he has been there and done it.

Pearson is an arrogant pig-headed bully. Fuck that. David Moyes was at the Fulham match so that appears to be enough to make him favourite for the job in the eyes of the fans so far.

I'm surprised to see Clement sacked.

Did he give to much of the "I'm the big bollocks from Chelsea and Real Madrid" and piss the players off or something?

There are a million rumours mate, from stories that the chairman was telling him who to play and who not to play, to stories of a battle of wills between him and a group of senior players (Chris Martin would be one of them) and stand up rows in the dressing room.

My opinion -and I've said it from the start - is he's taken a team who were playing fast passing attacking football that was, in the main, winning them games and he's chucked all that out of the window in favour of tippy tappy Barcelona style fucking about where you have 99% possession of the football in a game but one shot on target because by the time you've got the fucker up the other end, the defence and everyone in front of them are in position and ready for you.

That doesn't make him a bad coach and, funnily enough, his style would better suit a Premiership team. The Championship is a different beast from any other kind of league in England and anywhere in the world. The best footballing side doesn't always win the game in any league in the world but in the Championship there are such a mixture of teams with skill (ex-premiership players and young players breaking through the ranks or on loan from premiership teams) pace, and pure fucking brute strength to overcome and any one team can beat any other on any given day.

You've only go to look at a team like Brighton. Challenging for promotion two years ago - battling relegation last year - challenging for promotion again this year. Is the team from last year really that much stronger that the one before or after? No. Fine margins.

Understanding the league and getting players who understand the league and the ability to read what's happening so that you can change the game as needed, that's the key. If most definitely is NOT playing the same style all the time and buying players who are exactly the same as the ones that you already have. As far as I can see, he didn't demonstrate any kind of tactical nouse whatsoever.

I think it could be a good move for Derby.

An arrogant pig-headed bully may be just what this shower of underachieving fucking nancy-boys need right now.

I'll make this prediction now - Chris Martin will be gone by the January transfer window. Pearson won't put up with that pouting twat's moods.

When he was first suggested as the next Villa boss I originally didn't want him but as time passed and I thought about it more the more I thought he would be exactly what we need. All his bad image seems to come from his poor media relations and the players seem to speak very highly of him.

Exactly this and what Derby probably need

Pearson is a weird but effective bully, maybe that's too harsh and just the way he comes across because he seems to have anxiety issues when he's in the media spotlight.
Behind closed doors he's probably a different guy alltogether. That doesn't explain the Mcarthur incident though, something very strange happened that day. I can only think he was on the verge of a breakdown at the time because the media, Mcarthur and Ostrich issues all happened close together.

If in the break he's had from football he's not had counselling of some sort I'd be very surprised because I do believe there's a decent fella in there that just needs nurturing, he set Leicester of their way and they wouldn't have won the title without his foundations, let's hope he can lay the same foundations with Derby for ODM's sake lol.

Reports are he's got the job. Someone's just stuck £3k on at 1.1 at Betfair.

Di Matteo it is - the new Villa boss that is not the new betnod owner

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36435484

Perhaps more importantly Steve Clarke as his assistant. Part of Villas' problems over the last couple of years is not having the right person in this position.

Nice one Seen, your refusal is much appreciated in these parts.

Whether Di Matteo can do a better job I'm not so sure but I'm pretty sure he'll do well nevertheless @ Villa and as Colbro mentions Steve Clarke is what Villa have needed for a long while as a right hand man.

I was thinking more of Bernstein, Mervyn King, Bevington as board members, then Moyes as manager & Pearson, although the latter may have been after the dice were rolled, but in a city where the Chinese hairdressers are commonplace, I hope the doubts are diminished quickly. I'm not too convinced yet, although Di Matteo & Clarke must be. Clarke is a bright flame in fairness

Two very good appointments. A very big positive from Villa there. Has to be a couple of steps in the right direction.

Corals are still 14/1 for the Championship, everyone else are 8, 9 & 10/1. Fiver win and 2.50 ew for me.
