He's been Liverpool's key player this season no doubt - 'pool have lost just 2 league games this season, 0-2 v Burnley which is the only league game Mane didn't play in, and 3-4 v Bournemouth, when they were 3-1 up until Mane was subbed off on 69 mins, after which Liverpool collapsed and conceded 3 without reply.

In the 140 minutes Liverpool have played in the League without Mane, they've scored just one goal - which came in the last minute of a 6-1 win over Southampton (was 5-1 when Mane went off on 63 mins).

Since he went to the ACN Liverpool have failed to score in their 2 games, being held to an embarrassing 0-0 home draw v Plymouth and then dumped out of the cup v by losing 0-1 at Southampton.

Mane is not only their top scorer, but also their most fouled player (fouled more than twice as many times as any other player) so wins a large amount of free kicks - I'm not sure how many goals have come from these, if any, but they must be a big miss.

I did mean to post these stats after the Sunderland game but didn't get around to it, and also meant to oppose Liverpool without Mane but like a dummy I forgot they were playing both the last twice, v Plymouth they were 1.1 at the off I think and 1.03 not to score

Man Utd look a good bet to me today, they've won their last 7 and are the only team to have stopped Liverpool scoring at Anfield this season, while Liverpool's form has suddenly dropped a bit.

Going for 1-0 and 2-0 Man Utd, dutching works out at just bigger than 3/1 (9.0 & 11.5). Might throw in 0-0 at 11.0 too just in case Utd can't break them down, that brings the dutch bet down to 5/2.

Well my bets are sunk already thanks to a needlessly conceded penalty by Pogba :banghead

Unlucky Seen. Some good stats that i wasn't aware of there (though we haven't been dumped out of the cup just yet)!

Pogba was a dick and we'd never of scored without that penalty. If it wasn't for Mingolet it might of been 3 mind. MOTM for me.

Yeah. it was pretty frustrating as I basically called it spot on but some things you just can't legislate for in footy and that penalty was one of them.

Swansea at home next - surely Liverpool will score against them? Probably be about 12/1 not to score, but Swansea are so poor defensively, their last 9 league games they've conceded 450334314, with the 0 and the 1 coming against out-of-form teams Sunderland and Palace.

Might do 1-0 and 2-0 at combined odds of around 7/2 and also Pool not to score.

Swansea clean sheet was 16/1 before kick-off on Betfair, now just 3/1 at half-time after another toothless display in front of goal without Mané (just one shot on target in first half).

    1-0 was 10/1, now 11/4
    2-0 was 15/2, now 9/2

Mané meanwhile has scored the opening goal in both of Senegal's AFCON games so far.

An unexpected goal fest in the 2nd half but that was probably down to the ineptitude of the opposition's defence - still, another disastrous result for Liverpool in the absence of Mané.

Southampton up next in the cup before away to Chelsea in the league. No surprise to see them lose both games.

Some nice stats there Seen, I didn't realise how important Mane was to Liverpool when everybody else including myself seems to think Couthino is the key player. Seems they're fcuked without him.

I didn't realise they'd played Plymouth in the replay last Wed, I see they won 1-0, so in 3 hours of football v League Two team Plymouth they scored just one goal

I'll be backing a Southampton clean sheet on Wed at around 8.0 and probably backing them to win at 7.6 and the draw at 4.6.

Then they've got Wolves at home in the FA cup on Sat, they'll be around 1.27 to win that and maybe 16/1 to not score (Wolves clean sheet).

Laying Liverpool in both games in a double will return around 10/1 perhaps.

Not that he's been much good since returning but Coutinho hasn't been training with the team and neither has Clyne for the game against Southampton. I can see Trent Alexander and maybe another youngster or two being put in for this. Dont take that as gospel though.

We have 3 games to play in 7 days and i expect us to struggle in all of them. We are a defensive shambles right now.

Liverpool play strong starting line up but are still shit. Never scored again either.

    Liverpool 0-1 Southampton

Wolves at home on Saturday, they are struggling in the Championship but looking at their away form v the top teams they don't concede many (2-0, 0-1, 0-1, 0-0) so clearly know how to frustrate the better teams. Liverpool are 1/5 to win and might well do but the value lies in opposing them.

I think it also shows Liverpool can't do two games a week consistantly and I also think it's one of the reasons United fcuked up over the weekend, like I said a few weeks back this two legged ELC semi is a killer for anybody with title aspirations, especially coming so close to the congested Christmas/ New year fixtures.
Liverpool should be thanking their stars it's a FA Cup game at the weekend and not another Premier League match.

What sort of team is Klopp going to play tmw, Wolves are a massive price and beat Stoke at Stoke in the last round.

Punt - Will he save them all for Tuesday, even though the league has gone in my opinion, or will he try and win the FA

I would imagine Tuesdays game is our biggest game of the season, after our recent slump and our fight for a CL spot.
Some good youngsters will start tomorrow. The likes of Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez. We may even have to put an old Lucas in the center of defence again
It'll be a weakened team for sure but i wouldn't under estimate them too much. I'm sure Wolves would love a replay and that's my call on the result, a draw for me.

Ok cheers Punt, you can get Wolves and the draw in the double chance market at just under 3 to 1

Liverpool at 1.29 look way too short, yes they might win and have the players to do so, but they scored just one goal in 3 hours of football v League Two side Plymouth. As I mentioned further up the thread, Wolves have a solid defensive record away to the top teams in the league this season and won away at Stoke 2-0 in the cup recently.

I don't need to lay Liverpool as I'm already on the draw and away in doubles with Southampton from Wed night's game, but will probably do 0-0 and 0-1 with a view to trade in-running.

Wolves clean sheet is 12.0 on Betfair, 0-0 is a rather large looking 22.0 and 0-1 is 32.0.

Any Other Home Win (ie Liverpool to win and score 4 or more) is a paltry looking 4.4 although you can understand why it's that price.

    That does sound tempting!
I'd wait and see the line ups but if Lucas is in central defence alongside Klavan, with Klarius in goal, i'd have some of that.

That's not a bad shout considering the current climate at Liverpool although I have a feeling Liverpool will turn up for this one considering the pressure Klopp has been under these past few weeks, I have a feeling the players will put in a performance for him.
Saying that, like you say Howson , they are in limbo, do they go for the cup or rest players in readiness for Tuesdays Prem game against Chelsea which is huge.
