    Gavster,

I've been searching too & over & over even in shop and HP gets a horrible name.
It's to do with HP not committed to being in the Laptop market, or they can't make their mind up so the retailers do not want to sell stuff that won't be supported.
That price (£999) is way outside my budget but I see you are trying to future proof yourself somewhat in looking at 5yrs usuage.

I;ll be using machine to run adobe premier pro video editing software.
With i7 machines coming down I'm expecting i5's to be cheaper too but waiting to pounce!

HP have reversed their previous stance and committed to the Laptop market now.

edit: I see you plan using Adobe prem' pro. Some of the comments on that Argos website state that the graphics card for that system might not be up to running that kinda of 'graphics thirsty' program. For that, you'd be looking for high spec AMD or NVIDIA card.

I would stay away from HP products as well, I know 3 people that have HP laptops and all of them started having overheating problems only few months after buying them.. keep looking :)

Had a HP media laptop for 3 years, never had a problem & would recommend it to anyone

The more I look at this the more reasons I find not to plunge!

Suppose with millions of units of each brand selling there are bound to be some awful ones of each brand....

Looks a nice machine Gav, I'm wary of spending a lot of money on any computer though as I know it will be a fraction of the price in a few months and with the sort of work i do I can afford to wait.
Looks a beast of a machine though.

Fair play that does look a beast. Has it sorted your Betfred problem out?

have you took in consideration the fact that you are going to use it for adobe premier or maybe another video render so you'll need to have at least 2 gb of ram on your videocard....also I will recommend you a desktop pc....is cheaper...better
