12.10 Vaal - THE MACKEM SLAYER - Nicely bred newcomer at 16's.

1.55 Vaal - STREET FLYER - Useful sort at this level and better than bare form suggests last time. Fair EW shout at 14's.

3.10 Vaal - COUNTEROCK - Looks a moderate maiden event and this one is lightly raced and showed a bit more last time out. Officially has plenty to find, but can improve at 16's.

3.45 Vaal - THE SMELL OF RAIN - Continues to drop in the ratings and wasn't disgraced when caught wide in her last start at a similar level. Docked a further three pounds for that and is capable over the mile, so definite upset potential at 25's.

6.45 Newbury - DRUMNADRIOCHT at 33's

7.05 Bellewstown - CHALLOW at 14's

1.40 Newton Abbot - IGOUGO - Top 2 in the betting dominate the market, but going with this one who is having his first try on better ground after disappointing on soft / heavy. Be shocked if this one is not capable of something better and hoping that starts today at 80's.

5.50 Wexford - BOLLMAN LADY at 28's

9.15 Chelmsford - MARAAKIB at 11's

6.35 Beverley - JILL ROSE and NEWGATE ANGEL - Both available at 200's with B365, so gone with the enhanced EW terms down to 4th at 150's.

Saturday 7th July

Durban July day at Greyville in what is South Africa's premier horse racing event with a purse of over R4.25 million. Fair card also at Turffontein.

10.25 Greyville - ACCIDENTAL TOURIST - Seldom far away and remains on a affair looking mark at 16's.

11.40 Turffontein - SAINTS ALIVE - Stable 2nd string, but open to plenty of improvement at 12's.

1.55 Turffontein - BOSPHORUS - Bit to find in this company, but not enough to explain the 25's on offer.

3.20 Greyville ( Durban July ) - TILBURY FORT and DARK MOON RISING at 14's and 20's respectively.

4.30 Turffontein - EW's and FC / TC with these -

9.35 Sha Tin - PAKISTAN FRIEND - Good coverage of the paddock on ATTHERACES Sunday morning coverage and this one paraded well. Could be a bit more consistent, but capable on a going day and remains fairly weighted. Decent draw to work with and can be involved at the finish

10.10 Sha Tin - STORM SOLDIER - Ex John Gosden, but yet to achieve much in 5 stars over here. Down to a mark of 70 today and hopefully will acclimatize soon. Possible dark horse at 28's

10.45 Sha Tin - WINSTON'S LAD - Question marks over a number of these, so don't mind taking a chance on this one at 25's. Not threatened since last win, but seldom beaten far either and now down to a mark of 68.

11.35 Turffontein - APHANITE - Might just need it on debut, but nicely bred and some EW appeal at 25's.

1.50 Fairyhouse - CHOCOLATE MUSIC - Hood on debut and early drift an obvious worry, but still some appeal at 10's.

2.05 Limerick - HUCKLEBERRY HILL - Stable 2nd string ( to the FAV ) but nicely related and small EW on rules debut at 66's. ROIBEARD should also go well at 7's, so adding this one for the forecast.

2.15 Market Rasen - LINCOLN COUNTY - Reverts back to hurdling on a 4lb lower mark and showed enough promise in this sphere to be considered at 16's.

2.55 Fairyhouse - IDALIA - Not knocked about on handicap debut and should have more to offer at 12's

3.30 Deauville - HEY GAMAN - Greenham 3rd, who needs to bounce back from a poor effort last time. For me worth that risk on balnce of form at 10's.

2 Hong Kong winners yesterday at 16's and 33's, plus 3 places in the Afternoon.

Monday 9th July

2.35 Fairview - ANGELLUS BELL - Well drawn and potentially very well handicapped. Bit more like it last time, so not without hope at 50's

5.30 Worcester - CHIEFTANS CHOICE - Well handicapped but twice tailed off since returning from a break. Both those were on heavy though, so entitled to expect a bit better today at 16's

6.10 Windsor - SUPERSEDED - Possible improver for recent debut at 14's

7.20 Roscommon - HYPNOTIC FORCE - Bit better than bare form of 2 starts suggest and no real strength in depth to this race.

8.10 Windsor - CONTINGENCY FEE and YVANLEND - Did like the look of DARK SERAPHIM, but a bit short on debut now at 4's. CF's trainer can get them to improve greatly on 2nd run and money for this one into 12's. YVANLEND refused to enter the stalls last time, so comes with risks attached, but at least has had experience of the racecourse, so hopefully a little less skittish today at 28's.

9.00 Ripon - MOVE IN FASTER - Quite nicely bred 3yo and the stable can get a newcomer ready at 20's.

Tuesday 10th July

12.35 Kenilworth - TINTAGEL and TRON - The former is a nicely bred newcomer at 28's and the latter simply has to be better than shown at 66's.

4.15 Wolverhampton - KINIGIN - Very green on debut and looks a possible improver at 20's.

7.00 Uttoxeter - ALEXANDER THE GREY - Fair hurdle form off higher marks that this and is related to a few decent chasers. Can benefit from the switch to fences, though obviously remains risky at 22's.

7.50 Roscommon - SHINE IN DUBAI - Looks pretty limited, but this is a poor race and best efforts have come on the ground. Would have needed his stable debut and for me, one of the more likely ones at 14's.

8.20 Roscommon - PARADISE THEATRE - Related to a few winners and the stable does get winners in this sphere. Interesting newcomer at 25's

12.00 Scottsville - PERPETULA FLYER - Can't fault either recent 2nd and definite EW shout at 10's.

12.15 Happy Valley - GLORY STAR and GOLDEN DEER - Pair of EW's at 12's and 33's respectively.

12.35 Scottsville - FRANCOLIN - Bit better on 2nd start and would need to improve more today. Could not rule it out in a weakfish looking event at 20's.

1.10 Scottsville - BLACK CASHMERE - Hopefully been refreshed by the short break and the odd effort gives him a squeak at 66's.

1.50 Scottsville - PASTOOSH - Would have needed the last run and this contest looks his easiest assignment to date. Remains lightly raced and blinkers added today at 10's.

2.50 Yarmouth - SCALE FORCE - Nicely bred newcomer and the booking of SDS, catches the eye.

3.30 Lingfield - SHAN DUN NA NGALL - 3rd run back after wind surgery was a fair one and every chance at 25's, if able to build on that.

7.25 Kempton - PENARTH PIER - Shocked to see a nicely bred Hannon newcomer at 33's and have to be a player at that price.

7.55 Kempton - COURTESY CALL - Not stood much acing recently, but was a frequent winner back in the day and hoping enough ability remains at 50's.

8.25 Kempton - ZZORO - Not disgraced in stronger races last 2 starts and realistic EW chance this level at 12's.

11.25 Scottsville - Going with 3 in the opening Maiden -

11.45 Vaal - ROCKY PATH - Should go to the FAV, but not for me at 2's on. There are also 3 others at single figure odds, but all look to have a similar chance. RP is one of the more exposed sorts, but does have a couple of pieces of form and does possess a turn of foot. Not sure about the step up in trip and will need to be ridden with more restraint today, but for me he is the most likely of the outsiders at 40's.
