Horse Racing Bets Wednesday 16th August

5 Live races from South Africa on ATTHERACES, starting with the 11.55. Got all of them covered, plus added one more pick for later -

11.55 Greyville - LUPO and ITDAWNEDONME - The latter showed good improvement latest and top young claimer keeps the ride. Early 12's may prove too big. The former is lightly raced, tries the poly for the first time, has been gelded since his last outing and has the plum draw. Has shown speed in both starts to date and could be the big improver in the field at 25's.

12.30 Greyville - FAIR ANTONIO and BLUE DAWN - Going with a pair of once raced, possible improvers at 20's and 66's respectively. Both are certainly bred to do better.

L15 covering the majority of the remaining races -

1.05 Greyville - LATERS BABY - Lightly raced, improved latest and top jockey up. Should be thereabouts at 7's

1.40 Greyville - SCENT OF THE TIGER - Two recent wins came over this c & d and well drawn to attack in stall 3. Not much " wiggle room " at 4's, but this does look fair.

2.15 Greyville - PETER PIPER - Likes this c & d and showed glimpses of a return to form when making late progress behind a subsequent winner last month. Continues to fall in the ratings and now has his third run back with a top jockey booked. Should not be far away at 6's.

3.30 Greyville - QUINTELLA - Useful sort on her day and should have enough pace to aim at. EW chance at 12's, granted the breaks.

LUPO a pretty comfortable winner at 10's, with the other one poor. In the 12.30, FAIR ANTONIO has opened up much shorter at 8's and interesting to see if there is any support at this price.

FAIR ANTONIA held on nicely for the win. Did drift on course to 11's, but the ATTHERACES studio expert did say that the yard expected some improvement, so obviously not a total shock

1.05 Greyville - Already with one, but adding STUNNING SEED as a cover bet ( + Forecast ) at 5's

Pat Lunn, the trainer of FAIR ANTONIO, has just been interviewed ( they do tend to show the after race interviews on ATR, which is always good ) and has given a positive mention for both his runners in the 3.30. Am on one with QUINTELLA, but GINGER BISCUIT at 7's tends to run her race and both are reported as being fit.

4.05 Greyville - Going with 3 in the closing event -

2.15 Greyville - Already with PETER PIPER, but adding STRUMMER ( 10's ) and BLACK JAGUAR ( 40's )

5.00 Newton Abbot - ROSIE LEA - Should come on for fair Newbury debut at 5/2

5.30 Gowran Park - LEGATUM - Nursery debutante at 20's

6.50 Bangor - DURSEY SOUND - Useful stayer and potentially well treated at 12's

7.00 Gowran Park - TEAGAN ANGEL - Fitness taken on trust at 12's

Decent win for a drifting ROSIE LEA, but poor from the others. DS now looks firmly on a downward trend and the ground made life tough for LEGATUM ( 7f on soft ground always a test for 2yo's ) and TEAGAN ANGEL ( ground took its toll after 6 months out )

9.10 Kempton - Trying to finish strong with these -

LADY OF YORK at 12's
FEEL THE VIBES at 16's
XYLOPHONE at 20's
