Gerald Kaufman MP for Manchester Gorton has died aged 86. He famously described Labour's 1983 General Election manifesto as "the longest suicide note in history" though he was elected on it. Like several MPs such as Edward Heath, Margaret Thatcher, Peter Lilley and others he went on for far too long and should have retired in 2015 instead of Labour facing yet another by-election, though knowing the area there will be no problem with a Labour re-election. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39099489

No wonder there's a perception that more famous people are dying. Part of it is down to the fact that we have a million channels showing shit with every thick Geordie twat and anyone who can cook an omelette being classed as a "celebrity" and partly, it's down to the fact that we hear about every death. Some of the cunts in this thread wouldn't have been reported in the first 8 pages of an actual newspaper 20 years ago.

I'll give you 'Centrefold' after a quick google but must admit I'd never heard of them even though I know the song well.

Never a rest in peace case!

A shame it wasn't a slow and painful death.

I can't let today pass without a tribute to the former First Minister of Wales, Rhodri Morgan, who has died aged 79. A natural performer and communicator, intellectual yet man of the people he had an impressive curriculum vitae as a student at Oxford and Harvard and taking up several economic posts in Wales before the inauguration of the Welsh Assembly in 1999. He became First Minister following the Ron Davies scandal and the rejection of Blair's stooge replacement, Alun Michael. His only mistake came in not being candid as to whether he supported the Iraq war, but that aside it's not too much of an exaggeration to say he will be remembered as the Father of modern Wales.
