Gordon Wilson, leader of the SNP from 1979-90, has died aged 79 after a short illness. He was educated on the Isle of Man and became a solicitor in Dundee before becoming its MP in 1974. He will be remembered for coining the electoral slogan "It's Scotland's Oil", and as the reserves ran down this rather understated man must have reflected at the end of his life how different it all might have been.

The likely lads was one of the best sit coms ever, never forget the one where they were trying to avoid the England score:lol as it was so apt at the time before regular live tv, I remember my Dad going fcuking ape shit once when I told him the United score before MOTD.

RIP Rodney, I always thought James Bolam would have gone first because he looked ancient when he was young.

Aye, he was a decent fella. Didn't mind embarrassing himself to make others laugh.

It was hard to dislike Cheggers for as corny as he was, RIP.

Just looking at his Twitter page and he's more funnier than he was on tv.....
'I asked my prison mate how long are you in for. He said - Until I come' :lol

Again, I hate to be the one to burst anyone's bubble but they aren't his jokes. That'll be why he is funnier than he was on TV, cos he was just not funny. Just a prick (which explains why he thinks Bernie Clifton and Timmy Mallet were funny men - they are all on the same - deplorably low - level).
