Lead singer of Manchester Punk band 'The Fall', quite famous in their day for us Rockers. Thought most people over 50 would have had heard of him.

    Good bye to Jimmy Armfield

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-42775098

Nowadays with all football on TV It seems an age ago when I used to listen to my transistor radio on weeknights of whatever the big game would be.

Bryon Butler, Peter Jones and Jimmy doing the analysis was always my favourite combination and whilst it is undoubtedly better that we can now see all the games live - I still have fond memories of listening to Jimmy and I still think he is the best analyser of the game the media has produced

    RIP

Yeah they're few and far between nowadays, mainstream media seem to go for ex pro's because of their name rather than intelligence I'm afraid.
That's why I tend to listen to local media when it comes to match reports and the like, BBC GMR have a cracker in Steve Eyre, his intelligent in depth reports are a joy to behold, listening to him then switching over to say Talksport or 5 live is like listening to the TellyTubbies.

    Emma Chambers 53

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43183354

British actress Emma Chambers has died aged 53, her agent has confirmed.

Known for playing Alice Tinker in the BBC's The Vicar of Dibley, the Doncaster-born star also had roles in Notting Hill and the TV adaptation of Martin Chuzzlewit.

Chambers, who died from natural causes on Wednesday evening, would be "greatly missed", her agent John Grant said.

He said: "Emma created a wealth of characters and an immense body of work. She brought laughter and joy to many".

Chambers is survived by her husband, fellow actor Ian Dunn.
