Royal Ascot 2017 Betting

Good luck chaps.

E.W Singles and up with these today...

14:30 - Westerland 14/1
15:05 - Pacify 9/1
15:40 - Across The Stars 16/1
16:20 - Limato 5/2
17:00 - Steady Pace 20/1
17:35 - Oriental Fox 12/1

Haven't had many fancies this week as it's just too hard, especially with the draw bias flip-flopping on a daily basis thanks to them over-watering one side to try and even things out, only resulting in them creating a bias on the other side

Today looks just as tough as the previous 4 days, actually it looks nigh on impossible, so kudos to anyone who finds a winner or two today.

4.20 - COMICAS (ew) 40/1
First thing I noticed about this race is the lack of early pace, which is most unusual for a Group 1 sprint. Quite a few of the horses prominent in the betting are best at coming off a strong pace (MAGICAL MEMORY, LIBRASA BREEZE, THE TIN MAN) and the fav LIMATO has to prove his well-being after a dreadful run in Meydan last time (connections blamed the ground).
Worth going for a big priced one here methinks. COMICAS was campaigned solely at 7f until his last 4 races when he's been dropped back to 6f. He's improved around a stone for this trip change, with 3 fine runs in Meydan (including a 50/1 2nd in Group 1 company), before a decent 3rd at York on this season's reappearance. The ground was probably a bit soft that day, he was badly drawn and also did best of the early pacers, so a very decent return.
He can hang to his right so being drawn far side is a plus and if he can grab the lead and the rail I reckon he can go well for a long way and looks well worth an each-way bet at 40's. Bet365 go 1/4 odds and 4 places (10/1 a place), SkyBet go 1/5 but 5 places (8/1 a place), or Betfair go 46.0 win, 7.2 four places and 5.0 five places.

I'm also having smaller bets on fellow outsiders ACLAIM (33/1) and DANCING STAR (28/1) and had better do small fc's and tricast's with the 3 in case a miracle happens :p

*just seen Samoan has gone for ACLAIM and WINDFAST, I did have WINDFAST marked off as a possible longshot so will add that one to the fc's and tricast's :thumb

I've added LONG ON VALUE to the fcs and tricasts. I messed up the first time and selected THE TIN MAN (which I don't really fancy) instead of DANCING STAR, so I've put twice as much on as I intended :ohwell

5.00 - Gone with 3 EW shouts + Combination FC / TC -

BIRCHWOOD at 25's
STEADY PACE at 16's
OUT DO at 20's

5.35 - Try for an improbable follow up with these -

WINNING STORY at 8's
ORIENTAL FOX at 11's
EXCELLENT RESULT at 50's

No follow up Forecast, but ORIENTAL FOX was a winner at 10's. Well done Punt as well with that one and unlucky with STEADY PACE.

Had to wait till the penultimate race of the week for a positive result, but definitely worth said wait.

Well done Samoan, that must of been some hit. Nice one.

I need to book this week off as priority over Cheltenham from now on. Summer Solstice and Royal Ascot in the same week. Winner.

How do we think ITV's first Royal Ascot went? Compared to CH4?

I'd get about that Hayley Turner.

ITV vs CH4 is a tough one Punt. Never watched really watched The Morning Line, so can't really compare it with ITV's Opening Show and tend not to watch any of the features / comments between races. From what I have seen CH4 was better for the casual viewer and not sure there are enough " diehards " to give ITV the figures they would have wanted. Not the worlds biggest Matt Chapman fan either and can take or leave Hayley Turner and Mick Fitz.

The morning shows are bith equally shit in my view. They can't seem to make their minds up if they are on the air for people who already know a bit about racing or to entertain/educate those who dont and thererfore end up failing both. i remember when TML was really worth warching - true you had to put up with some self-indulgent irrelevant shite but you had trainers and jockeys on who you could actually learn aomerhing from but it just turned into listening to the same tossers week after week talking bollocks.

I record the opening show and then fast-forward thru it picking out amything of interest. takes me about 15 minutes.

As for the live coverage, I cant really comment as i warched virtually all if it on Racing Uk.
