It's going to happen in the next 2-3 years

    When I'm not sure

May as well start the thread now so it can be discussed reasonably

What do you expect from employees with no social or moral conscience?

so it can be discussed reasonably

..and I think you're on the wrong site.

Surely he does have a conscience - hence his warning now about his belief that there will be a problem shortly and that we should be discussing it now and looking for solutions

Yes well it's so easy to be wise after the event.

Mervyn King is warning about a possible future problem - but it is (so) easy to be wise after the event ???

And by warning about a possible future problem he has no moral or social conscience :thinking

If you are trying to make a point Steve I can't see what it is ?

Well we know he was the Governor of the Bank of England (it said so in the link i gave)

What we don't know is why you accused him of having no social or moral conscience or why he is being wise after the event when he has made a prediction about the future?

Because it was his job amongst others to foresee the crash in the first place- otherwise I don't know how he could justify his fat cat salary. The reason why he is speaking out now is probably because he has a guilty conscience for the past and is covering himself vis-á-vis the future.

    :clap:clap:clap

Why didn't you say so in the first place - rather than all those cryptic comments

    Now

What about his comments that the system itself is flawed ?

    Does that have any validity?

It's flawed if public schoolboys can get their bonuses courtesy of the taxpayer by lending to people who can't possibly afford to pay the money back.

    :sleep:sleep:sleep:sleep

Its been discussed at length already - and the thread it was discussed on deleted - either because people found the issue, or the way it was being discussed, boring.

This thread is supposed to be about any future problems

I have no idea if this is of any interest to people who read this forum or not - but so far you are the only person who has responded and you seem intent on proving your original point ...

...that the subject cannot be reasonably discussed on this forum :duh

I think you'd better ask the powers that be, not a humble servant.
