Do ya think we'll fuck it up?

What did you make of the security firm story, that came up short with security staff? Load of bollocks created to cover up the need for 3500 soldiers there?

    I hope it goes well.

Maybe they could use this tune in the opening ceromony what with it being the Olympic Runners..

Anyone remember the film? Late 70's porn :wank

there is something iffy about the security set up but my mate's son who's in the signals corp has been told last week that he's not allowed to be part of the olympic security while his mates have gone to London , he's on guard duty at his camp. The reason he's got a criminal record , spent time in H.M.P. before joining .
He doubts that this criminal record will stop him going on "security" duty in other far flung parts of the world where there is a threat

Shows how times have changed. Once upon a time you couldn't get in at all with a criminal record.

Was that a right cock up at Hampden tonight or a deliberate cock up? Fucking embarrassing if it's the former.

I think its deliberate , most people in Scotland would be sensitive to selecting the correct flag for a national side

I'm hoping that Steve Ovett has been selected to light the cauldron on Friday , I wonder why no odds are available for him

this is the reason from the bbc
I was partly right in that no Scot would get it wrong but those Landen fuckers have done it again

    story here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18997930

Gareth Bale must have seen it coming when he reported injured for team GB but played this week for Spurs!

too true , our players got booed for not joining in with that sing song at the start , the footballers don't even sing their own national anthem in wales , its too complicated for them as it has more than six words

Yeah, but you posted c'mon Senegal before they were booed.
Each to their own view like, i was just a bit surprised that that was yours with all the welsh in the team.

backing Senegal was a reaction to Joe Allen being labelled English in the programme , Allen is a fluent Welsh speaker and it was another "gaffe" by the organisers . Can't imagine a gaffe being made if China or the USA were concerned.

I see the Daily Mail blame the Welsh for the draw , don't they remember who scored the goal

Stars snub the National Anthem, then let victory slip

God Save The Queen is the Great British national anthem, not the English national anthem. Why were they refusing to sing it?

GSTQ is the British national anthem but they sing it when England play.

    Why should the sing it?
Why are they playing the national anthems before the matches in the olympics? they don't sing it before any other event, it's usually after they win the event

this what the bbc are saying about Britain

Anybody else think it's dragging on a bit now?

It had some pretty good moments, I thought the Industrial revolution bit with the moulten Olympic rings was pretty amazing but it sort of went downhill from there on in, oh! and I thought the Queens parachute jump was a good touch as I didn't realise she was so sporty.

I enjoyed it, well about 80% of it. As you said the Industrial revolution bit with the moulten Olympic rings was pretty amazing.
It did go downhill abit but all the lighting and changing of colour has been spot on. Do we have fireworks at the end?

The N Korea/S Korea debacle yesterday wasn't a great start to things. But they got the Swiss flag right, which is a big plus.

Just shows what a miserable bunch of bastards they are, if that was us we'd have a laff about it then carry on, I think us and the aussies are the only nations on earth that can laugh at ourselves, luckily for us having a sense of humour costs fcuk all and has got us through some very troublesome times.
