Cant wait for this to start, gonna be very tough to call this year. My limited knowledge of cycling says froome has a great team behind him, but hes a bit short in the betting

I never used to like cycling but have gotten into it these last 5 or 6 years and really looking forward to this years TDF.

In the short time I've been watching it I've never seen such a close tour and as those odds suggest the winner will probably come from one of the top 4 favourites.

I'm quite surprised to see Froome as the outright winner because he doesn't seem to have his 2013 form due to having injuries what seems like every couple of weeks.
He's put in a couple of good performances this year mainly against Contador but not longer after always comes back down to earth with a bump usually.
I'd have thought Contador or Quintana would have been favourites, Contador looked back to his best in the Giro (although most cycling experts seem to think that; that would have taken too much out of him to win the TDF aswell), I don't, I'm no expert but have seen him put in some fantastic performances since then, even beating Froome in the process on a few occasions.

Quintana on the other hand has spent most of the year back home in Columbia gearing up for this tour and if he's been doped up properly lol (only kidding for legal reasons) could cause havoc in the mountains and claim back time he will probably lose on the road and time trials.

Last years winner Nibali is also in the mix but whether he could do back to back tour wins against fully fit Froome, Contador and Quintana I doubt it.

I'm going to have a wee dabble on Contador @ 4/1 and will also have Quintana but not until the time trials are over because I expect his odds to drift before they hit the mountains on day 9 or 10.

Froome looks like he's on fire, he's took the yellow Jersey and we're not even on to his specialised part of the TDF yet.
Unless he has an accident then he's going to be hard to stop imo.
Still a long way to go yet mind.

Quintana has lost time on the road as expected but his odds haven't dropped that much, now being 2 and half mins behind the leader I'd have expected his odds to have gone out to at least 5/1 but they have just gone out a notch to 11/4, not worth the risk yet imo.
