Irish horse to outrun odds despite top weight

4.40 Cheltenham - Third Time Lucki 22/1
Lets be honest you could make a case for almost the whole field in this one but i do like the chances of Third Time Lucki who hasnt really shown alot in his last three races if im being honest , since leaving the Skeltons for Fergal O'Briens yard , although in fairness he was off a long time before making his way back to the racecourse (584 days) .. beaten along way in all those runs but as a result of that has been coming down steadily in the weights and i cant help thinking that can only help his chances here today , and considering the horse was fourth in this in 2023 im thinking that maybe this has been the target for a while. Seems to like it well enough here at Cheltenham with two wins and two places from seven outings over this CD and im prepared to give him a chance in the hope that hes been aimed at this and can run a big race.

2.40 CAPTAIN MORGS - Potentially very nicely treated, so don't mind taking a chance at 80's.

3.20 MINELLA CROONER - Cheekpieces back on and does hold some decent form, so interesting if taking to the cross - country course at 66's.

4.40 DANCING ON MY OWN - Irish raider who has won some nice prices over here. Getting no younger at 11, but can still run well at 20's.

5.20 FORTUNE DE MER - Trainer been talking this ine up a bit and whilst form is solid, probably needs a bit more. Looks fairly priced at 16's.

Was going well when almost falling 2 out, finishing unplaced

1.20 Cheltenham - Diva Luna 14/1
Wide open novice hurdle as you'd expect at the Cheltenham Festival with a host of horses holding solid chances but im drawn towards Diva Lunas' chances at what i think is a sound enough price. Since arriving at Ben Paulings yard back in March of 2024 shes won three of her five races , coming second in the other two , she beat the decent Listentoyourheart of Dan Skelton in her opening race (Listed race) for the yard , and followed that up by a 3 1/2 length win over the useful Paul Nicholls horse Jubilee Alpha in a grade 2 NHF race at Aintree .. has acquitted herself equally well since those two runs and i think she has to hold a serious chance here today. Ben Pauling been in decent form with a 29.8% strike rate in the last four weeks , Kielen Woods onboard and he has two wins and two seconds from his four rides to date , should be in the mix at a nice price.

4.40 .. Win Singles & Combi FC

An Peann Dearg 14/1
Gemirande 18/1
Fugitif 20/1
La Malmason 28/1
Ginnys Destiny 12/1

Unplaced, just about in front when making a bad mistake 2 out

1.20 Cheltenham - East India Dock 2/1
2/1 doesnt appear to be the sort of price to be taking in a race of this nature at the Cheltenham Festival it has to be said but i honestly cant see past East India Dock and i think theres a good chance that hes going to go off shorter than that on the day. Was a decent stayer on the flat when with Jamie Fanshawe but really has impressed since going to James Owen yard and has taken to hurdles like a duck to water .. Has had three starts over hurdles and has impressed in all of them and seems to be getting better and improving each time , has won his three starts by a combined total of 32 lengths and thats quite something when you consider hes put away some decent looking opposition. Won the Triumph Trial here over CD last time out , coming back after 70 days off he put in a scintillating display to put away Stencil by ten lengths , that was some run and i think thats theres every chance that theres more to come and that hes gonna make it four from four here this afternoon. One from one over CD and two from two at Cheltenham overall , it caught my eye that hes the only course / course and distance winner in the race , and here at Cheltenham / The Festival i think that proven course form counts for alot personally. Looks to be a straight forward , no nonsense type who seems to go on any (or most) goings i think hes gonna take some stopping here. Pleased to see Sam Twiston Davis take the ride as hes ridden the horse on all three starts to date so knows the horse , has a 17.1% strike rate here this term and a 15% strike rate over the last three weeks , whilst trainer James Owen has been having a great season so far and is enjoying a 26% strike rate over the past fortnight , and when sending his runners here this season comes away with a 23.1% strike rate.

4.40 Cheltenham - Fairly Famous 16/1
Probably should be leaving this race alone in all honesty but at the price i cant help but have a punt on Fairly Famous who arrives in decent nick having won two PTP runs before coming into this , before those PTP runs he was third at Stratford and in the race before that won over this afternoons CD a shade cosily beating Premier Magic by 4 1/4 lengths , seems to be a thorough stayer through and through so no stamina doubts imho and seems to go any ground so hopefully can go close here today. Won that CD race above back in May last year and in 2023 won here over slightly shorter making it two from two at the course , and like ive said i feel at a course like Cheltenham course form can be all important. Considering hes eight years old he hasnt got many miles on the clock at all which could help matters it has to be said. Gina Andrews is a jockey i rate highly and shes struck up a decent partnership with the horse with two wins and a third from her four rides to date (not including PTPs) , rode the horse to both victories round here and has a 15% strike rate overall at the course. Obviously has to have a bit of luck in running in a race of this nature but at the price i think hes worth a go.
