Sabina Babayeva will perform ‘When the Music dies’ for the host country, Azerbaijan.

Now this is going to cause some serious head scratching. After just two plays, this is turning out to be more memorable than Serbia, and it’s a ballad that will appeal to both eastern and western audiences. I like this a lot and 51.0 e/w to 4 places seems very generous given Azerbaijan’s apparent diaspora. I’ve had a quick 2 points to get some security.

azeris on home soil with this? at 41.0 - seriously? i'll have some of that! 2.5 pts EW blue square. see you got 51.0 gav - lucky bastard :thumb.

i'm not keen on it but when you consider the drivel that they won with last year this has to be a contender for a place. the same country has won 2 years in succession in the past - so its not without precedent.

Can someone tell me how on earth Russia are 5-1 to win!!?Unless I watched the wrong vid(and I think I must have?)their song is performed by a bunch of babushkas.....or have I,in fact, answered my own question!?:duh

Also,I have just heard/seen Swedens entry. It seems nailed on for a place at least-anyone disagree? Thanks

It's a good song and all, but I dont see this being strong enought to take it down. 41. seems right to me, not too excited about those odds. as an EW bet I can see it yeah. top4 is possible but winning seems highly unlikely to me.

I also have no idea where this Russia hype is coming from. At first it seemed like the odds were low because it was almost certain thati Dima Bilan would go to Baku. But when the Babusshkas won the odds rose @ betfair to like 20 for a while. I didnt take it. And even though the odds plummeted again I dont regret not taking it. I would not bet Russia even with 20 (expect to make surewin or freeroll).

Not as easy as that Hotspur. There are a few factors that cold count against Loreen, one of which is the proximity of Norway in the final. Place odds will be pretty short at this point too! I would wait to see if it gets an unfavorable draw, then back it.

A bit too much voice gymnastics at some points imo, but she acutally seems to be a competent singer. I still feel this song is undervalued by the market.

New live version. Great voice. Ignore the Azerbaijani parts though, as it'll be 100% English in Baku.

Yes it wouldn't surprise me if this ended up in second place in the final, with Sweden first,Iceland third,Norway,Denmark,Serbia,Italy and Estonia following.
