I took Laddies very generous-looking 11/13 for over 2.5 in the big Grimsby v Aldershot game yesterday, which appears to be still there; other bookies are offering anywhere from 8/11 to 3/5 which is what I'd expected. Over 2.5 would have come off in three quarters of both sides' games this season. Aldershot are decent going forward but can be desperate at the back, so our manager seems to have decided we might as well go for it and our away games tend to be open. I know less about Grimsby, but the stats suggest they're generally an overs side. On paper Grimsby should be overwhelming favourites, but they've only got one more point than us (I think) and look too short at 8/15, but I think Laddies' overs is better value than backing us to come away with something.

Strange but the international break seems to have increased my appetite for football betting for the forthcoming weekend and I'm champing at the bit to give those lovely bookies a bit of my hard earned cash.

Got very little spare time at the mo but will try to have a look thru tonight and will no doubt try to pick up some tips from this thread and possibly some that have been picked out for the football comp - wish I'd been on Winrews five timer last week.

ignore grammar above - no time to fuck about with commas

Premiership looks a nightmare this week.
I quite fancied the United v Liverpool game to end a draw but looking at the players out for Liverpool, Henderson, Cothinio and Sturridge etc, I'd give United the edge here and @ near enough evens at home they could prove a good bet.

West Brom at home 11/5 against what seems a pretty average Southampton team look decent odds, not saying they will win but could be one for the Baggies on the AH, no way should they be over 3's.

Spurs @ 10/11 maybe, I know they are hit and miss but how bad are Sunderland at the moment, suppose not much better than Spurs really:lol

Looking at the rest the results could so easily go either way, wouldn't be at all surprised to see quite a few draw this weekend.

See slick sometimes when youve had a good lie in, you talk sense about football. If we cant beat them tmw im sacking this season off.

Theyve no Coutinho and Henderson, and theyre awful at the back, and weve got big Dave signed up, and he will play tmw, so i can only see (pray) outcome.

I fancy a few draws in the 3pm kick offs, but theyre just so hard to predict at moment.

I cant see anything other than a Utd win. and a big win at that. 4, 5, 6, 7-1? And that's with us parking the bus!

Brendan 8/1 at Bet Victor, next manager to leave post. Huge odds. Probably odds on come 7.30pm.

Couple of other bets that i''m on this weekend...

Man Utd to win, BTTS @ 3/1
Aberdeen to win, BTTS @ 7/1

Medium sized singles and a small double.

Aberdeen to beat Celtic @ 3/1

Medium sized single.

I wouldn't go with a big win Punt because United can't score and while they persist With Rooney up front it doesn't look like changing any time soon, not that they have anybody else to replace him like unless the £36 million pound kid gets a shout and produces something.
Nah I'll go United 1-0 or 2-1 but I'm being put off betting on it because I still wouldn't be surprised to see Liverpool nab a point.

Given Newport only have one point all season and look in a bit of a mess, the 15/8 available on Morecambe to win looks a bit generous and I've had some. Morecambe at this early stage are in the play-off race.

Spurs strike me as the standout bet of the weekend at 19/20 against a struggling Sunderland. I know they're away but I really can't believe that price!

Cheers Radoslav and good to see you on here again :thumb

Cheers RC, i've just put a big dent in the profit, treating the fam' to drinks and an Indian, they even hit me for a starter!

Top tipping from the lower leagues as always ThunderCelt, nice one :clap

Just for interest today, a few very small sized bets...

1st and Anytime scorers...

Joleon Lescott @ 33/1 & 9/1
Micah Richards @ 40/1 & 11/1

Aston Villa to win @ 4/1

I've quoted Ladbrokes prices there as it's a shop bet. There are bigger prices available on the goalscorer markets.

Having been down Ladbrokes i used their SSBT to put the bets on. Prices were different, i've actually got...

Joleon Lescott @ 40/1 & 20/1
Micah Richards @ 40/1 & 20/1

Aston Villa to win @ 100/30

Good luck Punter :crossfingers. I'm on goals; Leicester in particular look to have some in them so I'm on the general 10/11 for over 2.5

You're on a roll TC!

I thought i was on another winner too, at 0-2 but it turned out to be one bet too many for me this weekend

Yeah, I hoped you was on a winner too. Still, must have been a good weekend overall?
