It's no price but the only one i have so far is Swindon at home to Wimbledon @ 8/15. I've put this one in with 4 other selections, from other leagues.

I'm keeping an eye on Hereford results at the moment, it's worrying again. You know you're in the shit when you're losing home games around Christmas, especially after taking the lead. I think Accrington will probably notch another away win against us. Corals are best price @ 7/5 but i wouldn't of got any pleasure out of the bet, tempting as it is.

At least you might have the consolation of having tipped Hereford at the beginning of the season :thumb. My pre-season relegation tip was Cheltenham:giveup

For tonight I'm on over 2.5 (3 units) in Dagenham v Gillingham, at 4/5 in several places. Dagenham's strategy this season seems to have been to score a lot, but to concede more. Boxing Day's clean sheet was only their third in the league this season, and that was more to do with Barnet's finishing than Dagenham's defence. Dagenham have also taken Cristian Montano on loan, and he's made am impact with three goals in four games. I've only seen him on film, but Swindon supporting colleagues - where he was on loan earlier this season - reckion he's quality, and his record of better than a goal every three games for his loan clubs this season seems to reflect that. Dagenham have tightend up a little recently - their cup games against Walsall - but I'd still be confident they're more likely to produce an overs display than an unders one.

Gillingham apparently have some defensive issues, but while their squad looks deep enough to cope it certainly won't help. Gillingham also tend to be involved in high scoring matches away from home, and the teams they struggle against are better than Dagenham. They don't tend to keep clean sheets on their travels and I anticipate goals.

I'm also taking a couple of units on Montano to score at Bet365's 5/2 - prices for this are all over the place with a lowest of 13/10, but I think the couple of places offering better than 2/1 are just about value.

So, having done a three paragraph write up, I've nailed on a 0-0, especially I have a apalling record of getting overs/unders right :giveup

Accrington have drifted wildly to 12/5, so I've leaped on (3 units +0.25 at evens) with Bet365. I have no idea why the cahnge in price; no sudden team news I can find.

Also taken Plymouth at +0.25 at 6/5 with Bet365. Plymouth have improved since coming out of administration, and are unbeaten in four. They won at Bristol Rovers at Boxing Day; Rovers are around on a par with Aldershot - according to league position, anyway.

Aldershot have lost four out of five, and were also looking beaten on Boxing Day when the floodlights failed.

I wouldn't rule out a Shots wun, but I think the value is with Plymouth. And I'll be there - it's a 1pm kick off, so the floodlights won't be a problem :D

Half win with Accrington drawing :)
Overs at Dagenham came in :)
Montano didn't score

so a couple of units profit on the night.

If Aldershot win tomorrow I'm down for the weekend; of we avoid victory I'm in profit.

AFC Wimbledon v Southend

Both teams to Score @ 1.67 [Blue Square]

...which reminds me to get on Southend DNB which I'd forgotten I was going to do at 8/13. There were signs against us in the abandoned game on Boxing Day that Southend were over their mini-slump. Wimbledon, on the other hand, are on a major slump with only three points from eleven games. It's not a given as Southend are hit by suspensions, but they have a big enough squad for that not to be catostrophic. Wimbledon also look like having Cristian Jolley back, which will be a boost. However, teams near the top of the table are there because they tend to be able to come away from these sort of games with something.

Plymouth draw (half win) :)
Southend won :)
So over the last 24 hours a more than decent end to the year :beer apart from the ninety minutes of goalless dross I had to stand through at Aldershot v Plymouth today :sleep

Had 3 units on Skybet's Swindon -1 EH at 5/4. The stats speak for themselves - Swindon seven wins from ten at home, and beat the handicap on six of them. Wimbledon without a win in eleven, scoring eight and conceding twenty-six in the process.

Some other factors:

Fatigue, maybe, with both sides playing on Saturday, is that Swindon have a big squad and can rest any players still recovering without weakening the team significantly, while Wimbledon don't have that luxury.

Wimbledon without atacking threats Cristian Moore (suspended) and Luke Moore (injured), so will find it difficult against a Swindon defence that impressed me when Aldershot went there. In addition, the Wombles have conceded nearly two a game this season - manager Terry Brown likes to entertain - althoguh in fairness thay've been more 'entertaining' at home.

In all, this looks like one of those matches where Wimbledon will either fight an impressive rearguard and come away with a point, or concede and collapse when they're committed to looking for an equaliser.

Edit to acknowledge that Punter spotted this one first :thumb

No need to edit for that TC :thumb besides, i think you've found a better bet with that 5/4 for the -1

I've just gone in search of another pick from league 2 and have ended up with a Super Yankee!
I've put Swindon (1/2) in again but was originally drawn towards Plymouth (9/5) and Oxford (2/1) for a bet, who i think are at slightly generous odds. I do fancy Oxford to beat the leaders at home.
But then i ended up thinking about the improved form of Bradford (29/10) too, who have won 3 on the trot against good oposition, can they make it 4?
I also opted to put Crewe (5/4) in too, though this was the least confident pic of my bet. I just favour them a touch.

Gone along with you on Bradford for a unit :thumb for your resaons - Bradford doing well, while Rotherham haven't been firing on all cylinders of late. I was on the fence, but having someone else spot it clinched it.

Also agree that Crawley might come unstuck, and I'm looking for an angle I like.

:crossfingers for your other picks too.

Took swindon in a sillly short price line, & also taken Shrewsbury the same. Gone doubles & up in a yankee which includes Bradford & Oxford

Unexpected Aldershot team news is that centre back Aaron Morris has an injury. We only have one fit/unsuspended centre back, so Peter Vincenti - an attaking midfielder/striker - fills in at CB, according to our message board. Also, top scorer Danny Hylton has also picked up an injury since Saturday. We're looking a bit makeshift, which has tempted me to have a couple of units on Gillingham at evens.

Etit - we do have an available Centre Back - he's been left on the bench

Not enough for me to get involved, but for Crawley top scorer Tubbs isn't even on the bench (rested? injured?) which strengthens the case for Oxford who look full strength (although my knowledge of them isn't great).

Swindon -1 :)
Gillingham :)
Bradford

6 units staked, 10.75 returned :dance

Well done TC clap

I would of been in profit despite a poor S.Yankee, as i had a single on Oxford just before K.O. Late goals have been shafting me recently :banghead

A great result for Hereford eases the blow though :)
