I am not about to suggest backing Villa, but surely Liverpool @ 1.44 is completely & utterly ludicrous. Theyve lost 6 out of 7 ffs & are at war between themselves. Villa are struggling but are likely to be as up for this as its possible to be. Yes theyre kids & the worry is the McCleish concentrates on the Stoke game but surely if theres ever a time to go to Anfield its now? Villas kids performed well against Chelsea & theres no pressure on them here, whereas theres tons on Liverpool. If Wigan can win there, a fired up, bonded Villa can too

I wouldn't back Liverpool full stop on current form Swoops but I do expect them to have a turaround soon and Villa they way you's are playing could be ideal fodder for them I'm afraid m8, I have a feeling Villa will get tonked tell the truth.

It looks a tought set of fixtures all round this weekend , Swansea will be looking to bounce back but Newcastle are on a roll , you would be doing well to pick a result here.
Sunderland look to be kicking off again after a lack lustre few weeks and Spurs can iff afford to drop many more points if they want to gurantee that Cl place but will also have one eye on the FA cup, Harry doesn't seem to give a fcuk anymore as he's more or less guaranteed the England spot so again it leaves the match wide open, I'd probably go Spurs if I had to pick a result but wouldn't risk any money on it.

Odds for Wigan look a bit large considering their recent form, I wouldn't expect them to beat Chelsea at the Bridge but they will give them a game and If I can get Wigan + 2 or more on the AH @ evens or above i would be tempted.

Norwich v Everton is another that does nothing for me, Norwich at home are hard to beat and Everton are one of the form sides at the moment but they could so easily take their eye off the ball with the scouse FA Cup semi fast approaching, saying that certain players will also be looking to book their place in that match, it's these ifs and but's that put me off betting on this game.

Stoke catch the eye but at a very low price, saying that if I had a choice between backing Liverpool at even lower odds or Stoke then I would plump for the Potters but not at that price I'm afraid as they seem to have struggled this season movitating themselves against lesser teams so to speak. They have become a bit complacent now they have established themselves in the Prem.

Newcastle are a bit big @ 2/1, Swans are capable when they are at their best but since winning three on the trot they've had a couple of losses by 2 clear goals.
Newcastle have won three on the trot and looking at their fixture list it's not impossible for them to win the next four games too. I'm almost tempted on taking the 14/1 about a top 4 finish. 2/1 for them to win here though is the bet.

I'm hoping Liverpool can put in a fight and hold out for a 0-0 draw this week.

Good shout on Newcastle Punt, Swansea had a lot of possession but did bugger all with it. Newcastleplayed it well and were clinical when it mattered, Cisse is looking to be one of the buys of the season, the second goal was brilliant.
The way they are playing Punt 14/1 (allthough i bet it's a lot lower now) to finish top 4 looks a cracking bet.

Cheers Slick, that 2nd goal of Cisse's was brilliant and sealed the bet. I had a single at 2/1 just before the off and took a small bet @ 40/1 for a 3-0 geordie win, that result would of been harsh on the Swans though.

It wasn't meant to be facetious Swoop, just a point that both Liverpool and Villa have been shite this season and would anybody be too surprised if both teams failed to score tomorrow.

Lay Everton @ 2.52 [Betfair]

Norwich more than matched them on their ground when drawing 1-1 in December

I have put my money where my mouth is, & layed Liverpool. Obviously I am biased but I believe we will never have a better chance & that the first 25 minutes is enormous in this match. questions are being asked of Dalglish, quite rightly so with the money spent although you cant forget one cups in the bag & they are also in the FA Cup semi. Villa are depleted & young, but are under no pressure here at all & Nzog & Hutton may return. The odds are wrong, simple as that.

Layed Liverpool, backed Villa to win @ 2-0 & 2-1....minimum stakes obviously, I'm not that fucking stupid :unsure

I reckon Blackburn might be in with a shout tomorrow against Liverpool, more so with the FA cup semi coming up against Everton this weekend, my only concern would be Kenny telling some of his players they are playing for a place.
even so as United found out it won't be easy at Ewood and if Liverpool are not prepared to put in a full shift they could come unstuck. I also imagine KK will be resting a few players in preparation for the semi but i thought the same thing earlier on today with Everton and they didn't do too badly against Sunderland.

I'm also taking Wigan +1.5 on the AH @ evens against United, History tells us this should be a shoe in for the reds but I have a feeling Wigan will get something from this match and on current form don't deserve to be the outsiders those odds suggest.
I know a few will say 'wishful thinking' and all that but I've seen enough of Wigan lately to see they are not going to lie down and die quite so easily.

QPR could be worth a shout too, now Swansea have virtually guaranteed themselves prem football for next season they seem to have taken their foot off the gas and with a couple of easy home fixtures to come It looks like complacency might be setting in, my main concern is Brendan Rodgers obviously noticing it and wanting guarantee their safety sooner rather than later as one more win should nail it.
Thinking about it QPR at evens is probably not worth taking the risk.

I stupidly put Liverpool in my Combo bet, i dont know what i was thinking as i dont fancy our chances of a win now. Daft pick before such a big game away from home against a team desperate for points.
However, i've already got 5 x 4folds up and Liverpool could make it x15. With that in mind i've just layed them @ 2.16 for a profit no matter what.

One thought crossed my mind was who's likely to play up front for us? I see KD has used some of the younger fringe players a bit since the last round of the cup, Raheem Sterling came off the bench against Wigan, Coates played against QPR and Flanagan against Villa.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sterling plays upfront at some point against Rovers if he's named in the squad, if he does then Betfred have him wrongly priced to be last scorer @ 15.00, he's a young small striker who deserves a chance at 1st team level for the goals he's scored at under 18 level, he knows where the net is. I'm not saying he's the best thing since sliced bread, just that his odds are very high at Betfred, i think Paddy P's are closer the call but still big @ 8.50 last scorer

Three small punts, Raheem Sterling, Anytime @ 5.00 Skybet, 1st @ 15.00 and Last @ 15.00 Betfred.

You've just answered my question as I was meaning to ask you who you thought would be playing for Liverpool, I know Moyes made a few changes today and I've no doubt a few of the Everton players played out of thier skins trying to impress for a shirt on Saturday but I should imagine KK will allready know his team and having more strength in depth will rest more players than Everton did today.
Even so I think Blackburn @ small stakes is the way to go but I'll be looking at team news first.

Fuck waiting for team news. Liverpool aren't good enough to beat Blackburn with their best team out, never mind with a weakened team. They're shit.

I'm on Blackburn draw no bet at 6/4 (just in case blackburn freeze and play out the draw)

No wonder I'm always skint. Liverpool 'have' been a tad unlucky considering the amount of times they've hit the woodwork. Blackburn are just as shit.

If I can get 5/4 on Liverpool then I'm on. I know they have a cup semi at the weekend but how much more can Dalgleish take.

Liverpool to win 4-0 @ 40/1.

Liverpool resting a few players for the cup tie , but Everton did the same yesterday , I'm with keg and think that Blackburn are shite , I'm on Liverpool , so expect Yakubu to score

This is probably one of the shittest examples of journalism I've ever seen

Kenny Dalglish has described Liverpool's current form as the worst run he can remember as a manager, player and supporter.
But the Reds boss would do well to recall a dreadful six-game losing run he oversaw while in charge of Blackburn exactly 20 years ago.
LIVERPOOL'S LEAGUE RUN

11 Feb Man Utd 1-2
3 Mar Arsenal 1-2
10 Mar Sunderland 0-1
13 Mar Everton 3-0
21 Mar QPR 2-3
24 Mar Wigan 1-2
1 Apr Newcastle 0-27 Apr Aston Villa 1-1
The similarities are striking: Form that crumbled in March, big money signings failing to perform, and back page stories questioning whether 'King Kenny' could still cut it as a manager.
If Dalglish was to reflect on that run amid growing pressure at Liverpool he may find some reassurance at how quickly things can change.
The run ended with a draw, Liverpool's last result. Three years later, his team won the Premier League.
Now Dalglish's Liverpool have a chance to end their bad run at Ewood Park against Blackburn on Tuesday.
Blackburn record goalscorer Simon Garner, who was part of that 1991-92 squad, describes how Dalglish coped during such a bad run of form and what he did to turn it around.

and what masterstroke did KK pull to turn it around,,,,,,

"He left all the coaching to Ray Harford [his assistant manager] who was a very, very good coach. Kenny would come in with a smile on his face and have a laugh and a joke.

Genius. So he took his miserable fucking fizzhogg elsewhere. Great.

I'm sure Liverpool fans will be comforted to know that if they put up with another three years of this shit, they might somehow magically win the league.

Of course. he then fucked off and Blackburn have won pretty much fuck all since. Well, apart from a League Cup and we all know that they're pretty much worthless.
