I'm not going to pick the bones of any of these fixtures as it's too early in the season for that but off the top of my head my I thought Newcastle shown enough last week to show they might have a decent season as their new signings looked to be settling in well and shown some quality.
The Jury's out on Villa still on how they will fare this season with the problems they have with ole tight pockets in charge lol, but any win at Stoke is a good one and I wish them all the best, saying that I have a feeling Newcastle might just pinch this one.

I thought Southampton put up a decent fight last week against liverpool against all the odds but that still doesn't disguise the fact they have sold most of their best players, at odds on they could be worth laying.
Another side that might be worth laying is United, I didn't expect their odds to be so low away to Sunderland, after last weeks defeat they won't know what to expect on Sunday and may well approach this match with a hint of caution. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sunderland get a point here or even turn them over.

Listening to a pod cast from the Guardian , and they have the Villa manager as the first casualty , i can see why , not the best squad and no decent signings ( Joe Cole FFS ) , i can see Newcastle coming away with all three points , watched them against City in the last match and they looked pretty decent despite getting beat 2-0 , its going to be a long hard season for the Villa .

Everton v Arsenal , proverbial slow starters ( Everton ) should manage a draw against the Gooners , Arsenal have a bit of an injury crisis ( again ) so they will probably be happy with the draw.

I can't see Lambert being fired by Lerner unless the situation at Villa is really desperate. With three points in the bag it would at this stage take a really bad run of results for Lambert to go. Lambert could also have resigned in the summer but choose not to.

Having said that I am sitting out tomorrows game simply because Villa struggle at home when they have to take the initative. Newcastle also have a good record against us in recent seasons.

I would lay Lambert to be sacked at short odds but I am not touching tomorrows game

I actually fancy Everton to get something against Arsenal Winrew, more so considering Arsenal played midweek but those odds don't tempt me and more so because Arsenal always seem to be my bogey side gambling wise.
I'll go for a nice even 1-1 but won't be putting money on it.

I thought Villa's defence were poor last season , Vlaar the only one that showed any class . Vlaar's performance in the world cup were good . Last week the defence looked sturdy against Stoke . Can it be the Roy Keane factor?
So it's a Villa win for me in the early kick off.

I have no idea how interested people are about Aston Villa but I feel the idea that Lerner is being tight is a bit unfair.

Our wage bill in 2012-2013 (Lamberts first season) was £72M (no idea if this was first team squad or total wages of the entire club).

Currently Bent, N'Zogbia and Given account for about £10M in wages alone. - I could go on.

If people are interested this article is an long but interesting read ( it was written over two years ago)

Looking at the current Villa team we still have about two years to clear the financial mess of our gamble to try to reach the champions league.
