I'm on Man Utd at 6/4. I know the price might be better else where but when Liverpool were taken to ET last night I jumped on especially when Toure was forced off. I think I might have been a bit rash but hey ho. Bet already placed.

Everton have been playing decent enough football but just not getting the results and it'll be a fair challenge for them especially after last weeks result in Wales.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Swansea have a decent record v The Baggies so I may also dabble with them.

I may have a quid on the Arsenal v Spurs game ending up 4-4

Cardiff look a decent bet if they can play their heart out again at the CC stadium, they were outplayed for the majority of the game against City but didn't give up and with that crowd behind them they genuinely had a 12th man.
As for Everton I'm still not so sure about them under Martinez but Saturdays game could reveal a few home truths as like City he will be expected to win.

Newcastle are still yet to score but that should be put to bed if Fulham put it a performance like they did against Arsenal at the weekend, I expected a bit more from them but still Bent got his first outing and scored after coming on as a sub, that should give them something positive from the match at least.
Bent and Berbatov could prove one hell of a handfull against Newcastle and I do expect Fulham to score
I also have a feeling Newcastle will break their duck hence I'll go for BTTS but as for a result? that's anybody's guess, I'll go for a 1-1.

Norwich v Saints is another that could quite easily go either way, it's a bit too close for my liking although I thought Norwich's odds would be slightly lower than that. I'll take them in Yorkies comp but that's about it lol.

I'll be having some of West Ham me thinks, I let the way Big Sam has got them set up at the moment, he's finally got a team moulded in his style of football like he did at Bolton and they now now how to play his system off by heart.
Hughes will set Stoke out not to lose as he usually does with his teams away from home but unless Stoke get lucky on the counter I can see West Ham breezing this.
West Ham win.

Palace and Sunderland is another tight affair with both teams desperate for points so early on in the season to try and get some momentum going.
Both teams haven't played that badly to be fair thus far but I think Sunderland do have that extra bit of class and if they're willing to give as good as they get because Palace will be up for this game then I can see Sunderland sneaking it by the odd goal.

Best game of the weekend has to be Liverpool v Man U, It has the makings of a cracker and I don't see any of that 'we'll settle for a point' rubbish early doors that we saw when United took on Chelsea Monday night.
It could well end up a draw but for the first 60-70 mins I'm expecting some blood and thunder, pity Suarez won't be on the pitch but Sturridge isn't doing a badly at the moment.
My first thoughts were Liverpool as the first eleven are fine and will probably match united man for man but when I look at the bench United have a lot more strength in depth to change the game.
Bollox to it I'm going to for for the draw and not a bore one.

West Brom V Swansea yet again is another touch call.
The Baggies just seem to be plodding along at the moment picking up from where they left off last season and if they're not careful they are going to find themselves in a rut if they aren't in one already.
Swansea on the other hand although sitting at the bottom of the table have it in them to bounce back at any moment, i have a feeling they will get something from the Hawthorns but I wouldn't like to put any money on it.

Arsenal v Spurs will hopefully produce another north London goal fest with Arsenal probably nicking it by the odd goal as usual.
I'd also like to think the overs and btts would be in order but with Spurs only scoring two goals to date and both from the spot I'm not so sure.
I'll still risk it though as this fixture normally resembles a cup match with end to end action.

Fucks sake, we've just been drawn away at Utd in the next round of the Capital One Cup too.

I'm already not looking forward to playing them Sunday.

I've watched both Utd's games so far and nothings changed, they still look a cut above.
Liverpool have had some good pieces of play but have had some bad pieces too. I've sat and cringed for 25-30 minutes in a couple of our 2nd half performances.

I've got to shout a Utd win here, for obvious reasons I wont be taking them but the odds look a little value. Points aside, Utd have been the form team.

There's a couple of things I would mention before taking them though..

There's a minutes applause before kick off on Sunday, as a tribute to what would of been the great Bill Shankly's 100th Birthday (following day). Anfield will be fired up to fcuk.

I've a feeling Rodgers might play Borini upfront with Sturridge, if that's the case, he's been finding his form on the quiet. A couple of goals and man of the match v Utd U21's a fortnight ago. Both teams put their best U21side out too.
Aspas played well in the pre season friendlies but has been quiet in the two prem games. I'd feel there'd be more chance of us getting something out the game if Borini starts.

It's all about the great Bill Shankly for us on Sunday, anything out of the game will be a huge bonus.

'He made the people happy'.

I'll take a look at the rest over the next 48 hrs.

Arsenals' weakness were exposed by Villa in the first game. Fenerbache and Fulham were too nice.
Spurs will take advantage especially with their new signings and 3.4 looks good

Albion look as though they're in for a long season to me. Got nothing against them as a club, quite like them in fact & they've always got a family feel to them I think. That said, it all seems to be going a bit Pete Tong for them if you ask me, what with Anelka & now Foster out for 12 weeks. i think swansea have always targetted this game as where they start after a tough couple of opening fixtures, & it's only the Europa League that could complicate it for me. i'm going to check tonights team but Swansea will have my money I think, possibly with Spurs & Manure in a trixie.
Saturdays games I might take Cardiff because I'm not convinced with Martinez at Everton at all. I think he's a fucking terrible appointment. Yes he won an FA Cup at Wigan but he had 3 or 4 seasons to tighten them up & just waited for the bullet to finally hit. Cardiff all day long for me, possibly with Sunderland

Where have you got that idea from Punter? Never crossed my mind for a minute to be honest. Is it a rumour on the Pool forums or something? Seems strange to me.

Im with Slick the odds on Norwich jumped out on me,this is a team that only lost four games last season at home, against a side that only won three away, obviously there has been some changes to personal and Southamptons new manager, alot of punters will go for the draw, but the value odds are with the home side.

It's just a hunch ODM, i haven't read anything. I just think he's ready to be given a start.

Here's a link regarding the game i mentioned..

Rogers appears to have a team that shows signs of building up an understanding. Now is not the time to be chucking in an unknown quantity in what could easily be one of Liverpool's biggest game of the season. As much as I think Borini will make a player, there's not a chance of him starting for me.

He's not so much an unknown Quantity as he had a few starts last year but didn't do much, I should imagine he'll be all the better for that as being chucked in at the deep end must have been a shock to his system but he's young and he'll learn.
I'm like you though, I'll be very surprised if Rodgers starts him in what is usually Liverpools biggest game of the season.

You're probably right fellas and i'm just looking at this through Billl Shankly tinted glasses.

If he doesn't start then he may be brought on as a sub. I just think his confidence is a little bit higher right now and this game might be made for his next step of confidence?

He might be shit too.

Maybe a last scorer bet or something?

If i was the manager i'd give him another chance.

I think he could figure.

He'll get another chance Punt no doubt and theres a good likelihood he'll be on the bench, I was just suprised to hear he might get a start in such an important match when he hasn't figured all season.

I'm more suprised to see Allen hasn't had a sniff since the season kicked off as he had a pretty decent pre-season and I think in the long term he will do well at liverpool, I know he got a run out midweek against Notts County and got a knock, I'm just surprised he never got a run out previous to that, was he Injured?
Saying that you can't argue with two straight wins.

I've got to be honest and say that i think Allen shite Slick. I hope he does well but from what i've seen so far he's not impressed. And we already pass to much too.

Henderson growing into a fine player though and if Rodgers ever sells him i'd lose all faith.

.

That is the first game that Suarez will be able to play so could be quite entertaining :angry (best biting emoticon I could find)

Craig Bellamy up to his old tricks - elbowed someone straight in the coupon. ref and linesmen all missed it.

That's good news, it means they'll be able to slap him with a retrospective ban instead of just a yellow card.

Arsenal - Tottenham

17:00 (CET)

Arsenal will play with Tottenham in one of the most interesting matches from the third round of the Premier League. The game will be played at “Emirates Stadium” on Sunday. The Gunners have one win and one loss in their matches in the championship this season. The team of Arsene Wenger lost from Aston Villa (1:3) in the first round and beat Fulham (3:1) last weekend. Tottenham is with two victories since the start of the campaign. The Spurs won against Crystal Palace (1:0) and Swansea City (1:0). I think that in the match there will have over 2.5 goals. In some of the last derbies between both teams had many goals and I expect that now Arsenal and Tottenham could make a spectacle of goals again. Last season the match between the two teams at “Emirates Stadium” finished with victory for the Gunners with 5:2.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
