I'm not convinced that Liverpool are as bad as they're being painted after game one of the new season and I'm not at all convinced that City are as good as people think they are. The fact is that they have conceded two goals in each of their last three games (two of them not against good teams) and they aren't going to be able to keep winning games 3-2 every week.

Draw looks good to me for the Liverpool City game on Sunday.

Arsenal are a backable price against a Stoke side that I see finishing in the bottom 8 or so this season. I'll have some of that.

If Reading can cause problems for Chelsea, I'm sure that Newcastle can and, again, a draw looks a good bet for me.

In the Norwich QPR relegation battle, I couldn't honestly give a winner. No idea. I just wouldn't want to have to sit through watching them play.

Draw in the Liverpool v City game was the first result that sprang to mind mind too allthough a lot could depend on what side Liverpool put out tonight in the Europa league at Hearts and what that match takes out of them. Am I right in also thinking Agger will be missing Sundays game? which could leave Liverpool a bit suscesptible at the back.

I wouldn't touch any of the so called 'big teams' at Stoke ODM because they have a great record at the Brittania against them usually nabbing a draw.

Liverpool will field alot of youth and fringe players tonight according to The Liverpool Echo. Sundays game is far more important, which my optimism says a 2-1 home win.

Not this season Slick. This is the season that they get well and truly sucked into the relegation battle. I don't know if you've heard but all Premiership pitches are exactly the same size this season. Stoke have made a habit of making their pitch as narrow as possible within FIFA guidelines in order to use their long throw weapon. That's not going to fly anymore.

Maybe but without the Europa cup this year to concentrate on I have a feeling we might start seeing the Stoke of old again.
I hadn't heard about the pitches being all the same size this season, any idea of how bigger Stokes pitch will be?

With the new boys doing well last weekend It'll be a matter of treading on eggshells for a week or two whilst the division starts to sort itself out.

Swansea's at home on last yrs form alone are worth a shout imo against the hammers, add the 5-0 demolition away to QPR last weekend and they should certainly be full of confidence .
Big Sam will no doubt try his usual stunt of trying to nullify the match and snatch a win on the break but Swansea should have enough about them to get a result assuming Laudrup has done his homework.

I don't see Man U or Spurs having a problem so I'll skip them which will bring me onto Villa v Everton.
It was a cracking result for Everton against United and even I was even fooled into thinking they wouldn't turn up for that match due to their history of starting the season at a canter when with hindsight I could and maybe should have picked up on their recent ability to go out on a limb and give it all they have against the top teams at Goodison, Moyes has no doubt been keeping one eye on Stoke in recent years.
However I'm in no doubt that that particular game against United took a hell of a lot out of them, at the end of the match the majority of the Everton players could barely stand up more so Fellaini who ran himself into the ground but what a player.
With the fatigue that game brought on i have a feeling this weekend we are going to see the Everton of old back to their lack lustre best at this time of year which might just be what Villa need to get a win or at least a point.

I also fancy Sunderland for the win but won't be taking them at odds on because Reading have put in two good performances to date since the season started, saying that the extra game for Reading may have taken something out of them so if you can get anything near evens for Sunderland it may be worth the gamble.

I'll have a bit of Southampton me thinks, I saw enough of them against City to see they will cause a lot of teams problems this season, I also saw enough of Wigan against Chelsea to see they are as they were 12 months ago in the fact allthough they have a lot of possession they cannot put the ball in the back of the net, this seems to come in the last couple of months of the season when it's all hands to the pump play and won't change until Wigan invest in a decent striker.
Southampton win.

I won't be entertaining Chelsea or Newcastle . Chelsea's odds look a bit short and whilst Newcastle look very tempting I think the win will be just out of thier reach, the draw could be the best bet here or Newcastle +1 on the AH.
Personally I'm just going to sit back and watch the game as it has the makings of a cracker.

It will be 105 metres x 68 metres. It's been as narrow as 100 x 64.

In other words, both sidelines are six and a half feet further from the penalty spot.

They're on telly this Sunday. Will be interesting to see how many throw ins they get into the box and how effective they are compared to previous seasons.

The Pitch
K.21. Unless otherwise permitted by the Board, in League Matches the length
of the pitch shall be 105 metres and its breadth 68 metres.

Anyone spot the Stoke guy in the crowd holding up the swimming pool sign that read

Arsenal

STRICTLY NO DIVING!

:lol

Good game Punt and a big improvement for Liverpool compared to last week, could be deja vue I know as the same thing happened last season. The next half dozen games or so will see if Rodgers has made any difference.

Yeah Slick, good game, i'm just relieved we were playing you at home as i'm sure we'd be rock bottom tonight if it had been at yours. We'll be alright this season though.
I'm a bit gutted we gave you that 2nd goal as i had us down for a 2-1 win on IKTS lol, but all 4 players who scored today were in my dream team so that eased the blow a bit.
My main criticism of us is we play the ball backwards far to often, way more than any other prem team and i'd already been expecting a goal to go against us like the one Skrtel gave away today, it'll happen again too, you watch.
