Odds William Hill

Even though Colbro and Swoops will try to talk me out of it, my big bet this week will be Villa. Not the bravest of selections at the price but the manager's admission that he doesn't give a shit about the cup has driven the price out to 8/15.

Normally I wouldn't touch that price in a cup game but going against the knee-jerk reaction of the masses, I'll make an exception on this ocassion.

As a side note, is this to be Villas lot every year? Fighting relegation like some kind of shit Wimbledon or Coventry, hovering around the plug hole year on year before inevitably being sucked down to the depths.

You can tell me about the youth policy again if you like but the facts are that this manager is showing no signs of moving the club forward to me.

The change in Villas price may be more to do with the news that Kozak is out for the rest of the season. The question now is if he decides to play Benteke or not. If he decides to rest him it leaves Villa with just Agbonlahor, Weimann and Bowery to choose from.

Vlaar went off injured against Sunderland so it may be worth waiting to see if he plays

I wouldn't have thought Kozak would affect it personally, he's not that good :thinking I'd think it's his statement, Vlaar's chances & the fact that if Benteke is left out he's obviously going. Dunno

The natives are very restless

I doubt it mate. I heard them talking about what Lambert had said on Talksport this morning and knew that the usual dumbfuck sheep would be putting their hard earned on anything but a Villa win which would drive the price up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking a Villa win for granted and the sheep may well have their day but, more often than not, they get what they deserved and that is to be fleeced (see what I did there?:lol).

While I'm waiting for Villa's relegation price to shrink enough for me to back against them going down for the third year running, I may as well gamble on them being good enough to have at least a collection of squad players to enable them to beat a shit Blades side who have won away just once in the league so far. If they haven't then you lot truly do need to start worrying because all the talk has been about Lambert developing a side for the future. If these players of the future can't win tomorrow then they might as well sack the cunt now and get someone in who's up to the job.

Vlaar being out doesn't concern me - he's going to leave his key men out anyway - it's the up the other end that I'm a bit worried. What worries me is that if Benteke is on his way, why would he risk Agbonlahor in a game that he's not bothered about. Could be a game to back the unders at 6/5.

Just in case there was any doubt, Forest were 5/4 this morning. Big Sam comes out and says that Lambert was absolutely right to say what he said about Premiership survival being the only thing that matters. Forest are now odds on with most bookies.

I won't be backing West Ham by the way, I think Forest are a better team anyway - just thought I'd mention it.

Oh, and probably another game for the unders at 4/5 as Forest are struggling for in form strikers and West Ham are, erm, shite.

Nice reasoning ODM, Lambert may well have done you a favour by carrying on like an old woman trying to cover his arse in case the worst happens.
A half decent Villa side and that's what it will be because there's not that much difference quality wise throughout the squad; so no matter who he put's out they should be good enough to see off Sheff U.
Saying that I still wouldn't back them at odds on even if they were playing a Betnod 11:lol
Still I reckon a good shuffle of the Villa pack might do them some good as it proved last year when they beat us at our place in the league cup. Good luck anyhow.

Arsenal look a decent price to me, I know Wenger likes to ring the changes and they are top of the league but Spurs at the moment are racked with Injuries and can ill afford to lose any more players if they want to push for a Champs league spot; which I should imagine will be Sherwood's priority if he want's to keep the job.

I was also contemplating Forest but a defeat here for Sam could spell the end of him so I reckon he'll give it a good go, I know even so they might not be good enough and Prem survival will be a priority considering the Olympic stadium is on the horizon but that's no good to Alladyce who will probably be out of the door by then, a cup run may well be the only thing that will give him some time.

Newcastle look a bit on the large size too considering the squad they have and I reckon Stoke have enough to out muscle leicester at the Brittania unless Pearson thinks he can fight on two fronts which I doubt.

I'll probably take Wigan who will feel they are duty bound to defend the trophy and are playing well enough at the moment to overcome the Dons.

Dorset apparently has had two inches of rain overnight so I guess Yeovil's game is in doubt, but I've taken Orient at Corals' 15/8. Yeovil without a win in five and better away than at home host Orient who are faltering a little in the league but still look a decent shout to swap with Yeovil at the end of the season. Despite their recent dip, Orient have only lost once away in the league all season. Two units

Elsewhere, as there's no Scottish thread, I've taken 365/s 4/6 on Clyde to beat bottom club Queen's Park. It's a slight rish as Clyde have a goalkeeper crisis and QP might get a lift from 'new manager syndrome' but with Clyde having to go for a win to keep in touch and QP having only seven points, it's a risk I'm happy to take. Four units.

I forgot to say that I really fancied Norwich to beat Fulham.

I'm safe to say that because they didn't. I just thought I ought to mention it.

Thank you and goodnight

Cannae believe I backed man ure. They have nobody who can break down defences. Swansea are defending well but man ure seem lost.
