Odds William Hill

I'll be looking for a bet to get Bristol City in. They should beat Tamworth who are almost two leagues below. Corals are a bit generous @ 4/5

I fancy Preston away too, but it's another odds on shout. Oldham too.

Some poor odds against prices here. Bookies not in Christmas spirit just yet.

Fleetwood and Chesterfield are obvious lays I believe.

And I dont think Bees should be as low as evens at Carlisle -though no doubt some other bookie will have them at 10-11.

Might be worth betting the 1-0,0-0 and 0-1 in the Cambridge v Blades games

Oh and I spose Oxford may be worth a bet as they are so good away. Though perhaps with a 0-0 saver.

Early fancies but not yet researched are:

Coventry at Hartlepool; with over a division between them (ot there would be if it weren't for Coventry's deduction) evens looks a bit long.

Improving Macclesfield against stuttering Brackley

Newport at another stuttering side, Kidderminster, although given Newport's away form DNB or 2X might appeal more. There does look some value to me, though.

That Macclesfield one looks promising I must agree-I dont really look at non-league teams in the cup.

4-5 really does look like a good bet.

Im intruiged by this 'research' TC!

Do you have moles in some of these teams?

Cant be stats youre referring to ,can it?:unsure

So Im assuming its reading up on likely team selection...fair enough.

Actually I have no idea whether lower league teams ever rest players in the cup but I assume they

dont as they need the money from a possible glamour* tie:unsure

(er,this post is just me thinking out loud TC and any questions are rhetorical so no need to reply:))

* Derby away,for example:eek::unsure

Hello Hotspur. 'Research' for me is stats and team news. As for resting players, Aldershot, at least, don't - the need for a money-spinning tie is too great (as you say).

Better start applogising now as I'm on Oxford hotspur. In the first game they played first team squad which shows they want a cup run and with their good away record I'm happy to take odds about 6/4'ish.

well after that first half I suppose we can consider we are doing ok at 0-0 but it's been shite from oxford

Gone for the three I originally picked out : Macclesfield, Coventry and Newport X2. (Also Dundee in Scotland to win at Morton)
