FA Cup Final 5th May

Punter will be pleased to know I'll be having a few bob on Liverpool this Saturday evening.
Liverpool have been the best cup side I've seen by a country mile this season and look a different beast to that pile of shite that play in the league.
I'm just in two minds though whether to go for the outright or to llift the cup @ around evens.

Chelsea have come on leaps and bounds under Mateo but the weary old legs might just cop for it in this final as Liverpool won't give them a minutes rest just like they did against both United and City this season in cup competitons.

It aint happening Slick, it's me birthday Saturday and i've got a feeling i'm going to get hit by a tripple whammy...Hereford getting relegated out of the football league, Liverpool losing the cup and the mrs playing the headache card late on.

Last week in the league two thread i mentioned...
A win for Barnet would be enough to do it as i cant see Hereford getting a win at Crawley. I also believe certain handshakes are made between certain clubs on certain occasions, if it's profitable for both and maybe to the point of survival. Barnet v Wimbledon (being two local clubs) could be one of those handshakes.

Barnet went on to win 4-0 and it was reported by the beeb that Wimbledon had played a significantly weakend team.

I thought there might be the smallest possibility that Liverpool and Chelsea boards may of hanshaked over the cup final and league game at Anfield, us fielding our strongest possible team for the cup (we still will) but playing a much different team 3 days later. Chelsea would of been looking at not only the CL final but qualifying for it next year too, making the league game at ours 3 days later much more important than the fa cup. I just dont think they would of played their strongest possible team in the cup, (they've won it how many times in recent years)?

It's all fucking changed now Newcastle and that cnut Cisse went and got that win though, Chelsea must now be thinking if we want to be in the CL next season we have to win in the final, the Liverpool away game is no longer worth risking so lets see if we can pick another fa cup up along the way.
That's the way i see this now and Torres will probably win it for them. Obviously i hope i'm a wide margin wrong.

I still think you will do them Punt, I've not seen any team this year get the better of you in a cup match.
This in effect is your final game of the season and I expect everybody to give their all, I wouldn't be too concerend:frown

Chelsea's performances have got to tail off after the DeMatteo surge and with focus on a bigger prize (as the Newcastle game probably demonstrated). Footballer are not machines and at the end of a long hard season and with the ch lg final and the euros on the minds of some, sad to say this game is fairly low on the list of priorities. I'm not saying they won't try tobe up for the game I'm just saying that subconsciously some of them will be mindful of having to stay fit foe greater things potentially.

On the other hand, Liverpool are fucking wank. I'd fancy three quarters of the teams in the prem to beat them if they were playing them on saturday (and half the championship come to that) but Chelsea are not in that three quarters.

Even money draw no bet on Liverpool to beat them and a small bet on Liverpool to win in extra time (12 on Betfair )

I hope it's a good spectacle and both teams go for it. The players that can't play in the Champs League final will want to put on a good show and with both Torres and Suarez scoring hat-tricks last weekend this has got 0-0 written all over it.

Chelsea are due a result v Liverpool especially after losing out the way they did in the champs league a few years back

I'm on call this week but someone is kindly covering Sat night so I can have a couple of beers whilst watching it.

Happy Birthday when it comes Punter and I hope you get your hole on Sat night as 1 out of 3 is better than none :beer

Cheers Keg.

Definately due one, i think we've won the last four meetings.

Cant see it being a thriller but i hope i am proved wrong..
Couple of small interest bets for me Chelsea on pens @ 11/1 , and Liverpool in extra time @ 12/1.
Happy Birthday anyway Punter ...

Have faith Punt, we're on our way now.

Just a pity it's took them 60 mins to wake up.

What a save, and decision from the Linesman, I was sure it was it.

I agree. I thought it was in live and I thought it was in on the replay but the computer graphic showed that it wasn't all over the line from a direct angle above. I'm not saying it was a great decision - if u don't believe it's all over the line, u don't give it and that's it.

as far as the 90 minutes goes , Chelsea pissed all over them for an hour and deserved to win.

I hate andy Caroll but he was fucking brilliant when he came on today.

Got to agree with ur comment about AC odm. He was great today although he should have scored with his header......

Not a great day for me and i aint even interested in getting the last leg up, i've told her to keep it warm till tomoz though.

Liverpool deserved nothing, far to weak in the center of mid with Spearing and Henderson, oh how we miss Xabi Alonso.. and even Lucas Leiva. Carroll deserved to start today going on the last 4 or 5 appearances and it's hard to see why KD thinks we can afford to leave him on the bench? Especially as Suarez was left up there on his own for so long.

Chelsea deserved it and well done to them, the real sickener for me was most definately Hereford today.

Mata and Ramires controlled the midfield for first half and by that time damage was done. AC was brill. Saurez was the same as you with the wife Punt....never got a sniff and never looked like getting anywhere near the box !!!!

Sorry about Hereford but i'm kinda glad tbh. Them fuckers have lost me a fortune cause their your team and i've thrown them on lines cause their punters team.....
