Horse Racing Bets 27th January 2024

Cape Town Met day over in South Africa. with 3 Grade 1's in total and an appearance from top British based jockey Daniel Muscutt. He has rides for his father Peter as well as for top trainer Justin Snaith and could easily pick up a couple of winners. Rishi Persad will also be there as part of the local broadcasting team.

Sporty Stuff TV ( Sky 427 ) will be covering races 2 through 8 live and will also have live greyhound racing from a couple of meetings.

There is an average of around 15 runners per race, so gonna be tricky and having to go wide in a few races, so could also get costly -

9.55 Kenilworth - COLD SHINE - First of Daniel Muscatt's rides and made a pleasing enough debut. Should improve for that at 7's

10.30 Kenilworth - BOMBERSINTHESKY and GREAT PLAINS - Pair of nicely bred newcomers with Muscutt on the latter. Either / both could go well at 20's and 33's respectively.

11.40 Kenilworth - ZOOMIE and TOUT A FAIT - Both have a bit to find, but both carrying are carrying a light mass and cannot be ruled out at the weights. Both definitely offer a bit of value at 33's and 50's respectively.

12.15 Kenilworth - SIDDELEY and ONI SAN - Both pretty solid recently and feel both could be up to this class at 16's and 20's respectively.

2.45 Kenilworth - MONTIEN - Rocketing up the weights lately and should still have improvement in him. Don't know if he is up to this sort of level, but 25's is a fair price to find out.

4.00 Kenilworth - SPEED RACER - Tracker horse at 6's.

GET IMPRESSED ( Seldom far away and a tracker horse at 7's )
HARAJUKU ( Nice win here last time and can improve again at 14's )
HAT'S PRIDE ( Grade 1 5th last time and chance based on that at 22's )

1.50 Cheltenham - CAPODANNO - Can threaten getting weight all round at 5's.

2.50 Fairyhouse - GET IT RIGHT - Not a lot since debut 4th, but certainly bred to do better at 80's.

3.25 Fairyhouse - MAGIC SADLER - Point winner who acts on the ground and should appreciate the extra distance today at 10's.

4.28 Fairyhouse - SHRAHEEN - Related to a few winners and the stable does get winners in this sphere at 25's.

5.15 Newcastle - SON OF SAMPERS - Stable debut and already been backed into 2's.

12.05 Cheltenham - MILAN TINO - Can reverse placings with the FAV at these weights at 6's. Bet 365 have Ellerton at 300's and this looks too big.

RAPIDASH ( Form of recent 2nd boosted and generally running well lately at 14's )
COASTAL COMMANDER ( Better than 7th last time suggests at 40's )
NOCTURNAL FLIGHT ( Bits of maiden form and probably worse 100/1 shots out there )

Rapidash backed and wins at 17/2. Coastal Commander a big drifter to 100's, but ran a cracker for 2nd. Forecast paid £725, but sadly could not manage the tricast.

6.15 Newcastle - WINTER WAR - Nice enough debut 5th and should improve for that today at 25's.

6.30 Kempton - SOAR ABOVE - Slipping down the weights and good 7lb claimer booked at 12's.

7.30 Kempton - ADRIAN - Formerly smart sort over in Germany, but nothing in 3 runs over here. First time blinkers can hopefully restore a bit of spark at 100's.
