First race on the South African card is an interesting one. The all-female line-up of amateur riders come from a wide range of equestrian events, including showjumping, equitation and racing. Hard to know what to expect standard wise, but should at least be a field full of triers.
Jockey wise, decided to go with experienced workrider Kelsey Mayhew-Munger ( who also has a win and place from 4 rides in public ) and show jumper Lily Rose Jamieson, whose great grandfather was a jockey a century ago.
10.25 Kenilworth - GIMMETHELIMELIGHT and ISCHYRO - GTL was 2nd FAV when disappointing a bit last time over the mile. Back to 6f today and has the first time blinkers added as well at 12's. Ischyro hinted at ability on debut and should improve for that run at 66's.
11.00 Kenilworth - COLD SHINE and BUZZ BOMB - CS is a nicely bred newcomer at 12's and BB should prove better than debut run at 33's.
12.15 Kenilworth - RASCOVA - Solid effort last time in a Grade 1 and should be thereabouts at 8's.
2.10 Kenilworth - MONTIEN - Tracker horse, who may be aiming a bit high here, but did recently win 3 in a row and deserves at least a chance in this company at 50's.
2.45 Kenilworth - ZIL MORIS - Not discraced last time in a Grade 1 and holds some useful course form at 16's
