Live coverage on ATTHERACES begins with action from South Africa. Looks a solid card at the Vaal, with a rare big field contest ( 28 runners ) and a couple of tricky handicap's -

11.40 Vaal - ROMAN BALLERINA - Friendless in the market and lightly ridden on debut, but is nicely bred and did hint at ability. Represents a top stable and presumably capable of better at 12's.

12.15 Vaal - PROMISE - Nicely bred newcomer and represents a decent stable at 16's.

2.05 Vaal - PERA PALACE - Back off a break, but fair form in all 3 starts to date and getting weight from all of the principles. Dangerous at 12's.

3.25 Vaal - TIMEOFTHE VIKINGS - Holds plenty of fair h'cap form and does look a sahde big to me at 28's
 
2.45 Vaal - Going with 3 in the above mentioned big field ( Heritage ) race. It is not just an unusual field size, but also over the rare trip of 1475m or 7f 73y to you and me -

AMAZING STRIKE ( Won last time despite casting a shoe and generally been in good form. Job on with top weight, but still appeals at 14's )
TANDAVA ( Behind AS last time, but should turn it around at the revised weights. Solid place chance at 28's )
STREET FLYER ( Other pair are drawn middle, but suspect low numbers might come out on top, so adding this one from stall 2. Bit of a mixed bag since winning 5 ago, but is a capable sort and the slightly unusual trip, might just prove ideal at 40's )

PROMISE showed a pretty good attitude on debut to win at a drifting 25's. Disappointing 1st bet with RB being way off the pace and absolutely flying home for 4th. Definite one for the notebook, but gutting on the day.
 
12.35 Durbanville - HERODUS and TWOFOLD - Going with this pair in the 2nd SA meeting of the day. The former is solid, though vulnerable to the lightly raced ones at 12's and the latter is a possible improver at 80's.
 
1.55 Durbanville - Going with 3 real rags -

JOSEPHINE BAKER at 66's
KAMFERS DAM at 66's
TWO TIMES A LADY at 100's
 
5.00 Haydock - SUEGIOO - Won't mind the stamina test at 16's.

5.40 Rasen - MY CHARITY - Plenty to find on debut effort, but changed stable since and bred to do better at 40's

SUEGIOO 3rd at a drifting 25's. Over 3 years now since last win, but probably won't be aimed as high in the future, so moderate h'cap wins should happen.

Big improvement from MC, with a 5th, beaten 8 Lengths. Should find a win sooner rather than later

Opened 10's and won nicely at 9's
