1.00 Vaal - Going with 3 " roughies " in this maiden contest -

TUMBLING STREAM ( Nicely bred newcomer at 33's )
HARINGTON PORT ( Drifter in the market and no show on debut. Bred to do better at 40's )
TRIPLE CLOVER ( 3rd run back, lightly raced and reverts to the 1200m, Squeak at 40's, if ridden with more restraint )

2.05 Catterick - THREE LITTLE BIRDS - Fair enough debut and the stables tend to improve for the run. Looks fair enough at 5's.

4.15 Catterick - CRAKEHALL LAD - Getting tied to this one a bit, but do feel enough ability has been retained. Appeal at the price of 25's.

6.25 Carlisle - PINEAPPLE CRUSH - Not shown that much to date, but remains lightly raced and makes h'cap debut today. Possible improver at 16's.

8.40 Tipperary - SMITHSCORNER - Solid enough to date and looks a leading player with Derek O'Connor booked.

2.10 Vaal - Combination FC / TC with these -

GENTLEMAN ONLY ( Much better last 2 and every chance it able to lay handy )
VIKINGS CASTLE ( Consistent form lately and h'capper not been penal. Should be staying on nicely at 5's )
KEEP ON FLYING ( Slow starts becoming an issue and whilst last 2 were both poor, was in good nick prior to those. Down to 51 now and should be able to compete at 33's off that sort of mark )

5.10 Tipperary - CAGLIOSTRO and SILKEN THOMAS - The latter is speculative at 40's, but ST should be a player at 5's.

8.10 Tipperary - DUNHALLOW GESTURE and OUT OF AFRICA - Both look to have fair chances at around 10's.

2.45 Vaal - DAWN ASSAULT and CHAMPIONS CUP - Lack of pace in the race makes life interesting and happy in the circumstances playing 2 at prices. DA has 2 places from 2 over c & d and whilst likes to be handy, can come from off the pace. Versatility makes him interesting at 20's. CC ran well last time from a poor draw and is capable on a going day. Risky, but EW interest at 66's.
