Horse Racing Bets Thursday 19th January

1.25 Vaal - INYANGA - Been in the grip of the handicapper, so recent efforts not bad in the circumstances. Down to a fair mark today and worth another crack this trip. Young Lyle Hewitson booked and EW shout at 28's.

1.20 Ludlow - SHANROE IN MILAN - Debut for this yard reads well but very poor effort last time. Need to forgive that run, but happy to do so at 12's.

Frustrating start with INYANGA a decent 3rd at 33's and SHANROE IN MILAN, 2nd at 10's ( Fair EW support around for this one ). Going back to South Africa for the next -

2.05 Vaal - Going with 3 all at big prices -

OUTSHINE ( Would expect a bit more today, down to 74 and with S'Mange Khumalo booked. EW bet at 14's )
KEEP ON FLYING ( Better latest, has placed this c & d, could show true form again with Muzi Yeni up. Too big for me at 20's )
BLUE BLAZER ( Good effort latest and should be capable of getting involved off 49. Drop in trip not an issue and interesting at 25's )

2.35 Southwell - WILD APPROACH - Fibresand / H'cap debut and certainly bred to leave his average maiden form well behind.

3.20 Wincanton - CYCLOP - Useful sort this level who gets the trip and handles the ground.

3.45 Southwell - MERRIMENT - Drop back in trip may not be an issue on this slower surface and remains quite lightly raced. Capable of fair form this level and one of the more interesting ones at 7's.

4.25 Wincanton - TIKKINTHEBOX - 4 of the 7 runners are available at 100's or bigger and for me, this is the most likely " rag " Obviously tons to find, but just could not resist at 200's.

Managed a 2nd in the 2.05 through KEEP ON FLYING. Loss on the race, but nothing terminal. Similar principle in the last, with all 3 again at prices -

2.45 Vaal -

MUTAKAYYEF ( Back off a break, but fair record fresh and Raymond Danielson booked. Shade big maybe at 10's )
AQUABUOY ( Capable on a going day and coming back down the ratings. Has won here and dangerous at 20's )
WARBASH ( 3 fair efforts from last 5 and should be staying on at the finish at 40's )

4.25 Wincanton - TIKKINTHEBOX - 4 of the 7 runners are available at 100's or bigger and for me, this is the most likely " rag " Obviously tons to find, but just could not resist at 200's.

Couple of pieces of luck here. First was the 200's available ( opened 66's, returned 50's )with bet365 and then there was the run itself. He was definitely booked for 3rd when the second Fav who was clear fell with the race at his mercy. Just the 2 places up for grabs, so needed the break. From a selection point of view though, it was the best of the outsiders.
