Workriders only card over in South Africa and whilst I like the concept, it does not really scream punter friendly. Cutting the stakes down accordingly, but still going for a few at prices -

12.20 Vaal - TOBY COATES and SEATTLE RANSOM - TC is a long time maiden, but has shown enough to warrant consideration in this field. He fared poorly from an unfavourable draw in a much stronger line-up a week ago and this is more his level at 10's. SR looks a nicely bred newcomer at 20's

12.55 Vaal - FUYU - Bit of a no - show on debut, but nicely bred and represents a top stable, so would expect more today at 7's.

1.30 Vaal - GALU BEACH - Solid pair of 5th's from 2 starts and up another furlong today. Should be thereabouts at 7's.

2.05 Vaal - EEJABEE and HYPER JET - The former represents the DeKock yard and should be ready on debut at 9's. HJ took a couple of knocks last time and is better than that. Upset potential at 20's.

2.40 Vaal - ROMANI - Still green and not shown a deal in 3 starts to date, but represents one of the better trainers and the workrider is one of the better ones on show. Blinkers added, drops back in trip and whilst I might be mad, can see this one running well at 100's.

3.50 Vaal - ONE DOLLAR MASSAGE - First attempt over this far, but for me will get the trip if ridden with restraint. Good jockey booked, showed a bit more last time and was expecting something in the 7's - 10's range, so really have to have a dabble at 20's.

5.20 Punchestown - GOLD SPEED and VAL MOME - Not much to go on with GS as he fell at the first on his Pointing debut. Related to enough winners to be of interest and Derek O'Connor booked, so happy risking the 33's. VM is a half brother to a winner over in France and represents a top Northern Irish Pointing stable. They do have a few runners every year under rules and have 3 Bumper wins to their name. Tongue tie applied for debut an obvious concern, but don't mind taking a chance at 100's.

3.10 Punchestown - LINE OUT - Not much chance based on last time, but way better than that and more than capable at this sort of level. EW potential at 20's.

4.30 Uttoxeter - TRILLERIN MINELLA - Lost his way recently, but prior to that was a capable sort and Kielan Woods has got a couple of decent performances out of him. Very risky, but don't mind going with the 50's in this field

5.00 Uttoxeter - RED ADMIRABLE - Back off a break, but goes well fresh and continues to slip in the weights. Solid EW shout at 12's

5.25 Carlisle - DOCTOR THEA - Fair debut effort, but the lost his action and was pulled up on 2nd start. Obviously risky, but bred to be OK and the initial run offers enough hope. Possible upset at 20's

Too many places and not enough wins today, but at least LO, RA and DT placed at decent prices

GS beaten a mile, but held on easily for 2nd at a price. VM was poor.

Galu Beach the main highlight with a brave win. Hyper Jet led for a long way at 20's but could only manage 3rd. ROMANI however was the annoying one. He lost 2 lengths at the start, got rushed up to lead 1f out and only faded late on. Beaten just under 4 lengths in the end and the lost ground along with him using up early energy has cost him a place and maybe even a win.

Unlucky Samoan, lots of places though at decent prices.
Shall we start a Placepot thread:naughty

I used to love the Placepot, tell you the truth it's the only time I've won decent money on the nags.
