11.10 Kenilworth - RIKERS ISLAND - Not convinced by any of the debutantes and has it narrowed down to RI and the 1 horse. That one is 3's and mine is 12's, so no real choice but to play at this price.

11.40 Kenilworth - RED MARS and ON WINTER'S TRACES - RM fair on initial 2 starts and then improved greatly on 3rd run. Should have more to offer at 12's. OWT ran better last time after being gelded and looks to be in need of the extra 2f. Still risky, but happy backing him at 33's
 
12.50 Kenilworth - PARA HANDY - Better than recent form, debut for top stable and chance largely hinges on him being fit off a 47 week break. 16's is a fair price that he is.

1.30 Kenilworth - SUMMER SKY - Holds fair form, likes the trip and is 3rd run back off a break, so should be fully fit at 9's

2.00 Kenilworth - PERGOLA - Holds enough form to go close, but is taking a fair hike in trip. IMO will get the trip if ridden with restraint and 10's looks a fair price.
 
The 2.00 Kenilworth has been delayed because of a snake on the track. New one on me, but I suppose an occupational hazard in some countries.

3.00 Thurles - STREAK - Bits and pieces give this one a squeak and was certainly going well enough 2 outings ago. Needs to put an entire race together, but for me looks worth the risk at 40's

3.20 Turffontein - LADY BURN - Short on debut and then eased back into things in a workriders event. Seems to have ability, but still risky at 20's

3.55 Newbury - STORMY MILAN - Nicely bred newcomer and the stable does well in this sphere and can get one ready.

3.55 Turffontein - ROMAN FLIGHT and D'ARIVEE - Pair of lively outsiders at 20's and 25's respectively.

4.10 Thurles - MELLOR - Going with this one on the breeding and jockey booking as both look significant.

4.30 Turffontein - DONNY G - Out of his depth last time, but capable this company and can upset at 20's.

5.05 Turffontein - LEVI LADY - Not bad lately and last time reads quite well. Bit to find with a couple of these, but not enough to justify the 33's.

5.15 Chelmsford - DEMONS AND WIZARDS - Probably wants h'cap's and further, but did improve on 2nd start and EW squeak at 66's if improving again

5.45 Chelmsford - EXPELLED - Disappointing FAV on h'cap debut, but do think there is plenty there and still expecting a good run at 6's.

6.15 Chelmsford - REVOLUTIONARY MAN and WILD WEST HERO - Couple of potential improvers at 14's and 33's respectively.

6.20 Turffontein - MATADOR MAN - Tight looking Grade 3 at the weights, but just feel this ones class will bring him home at 6's
 
6.55 Turffontein - EL MAESTRO - Too short last time and lost a length at the start, so the subsequent no - show was hardly a shock. Fitter today and back over further so should be thereabouts at 9's

7.25 Turffontein - MADAM SECRETARY - Looks to prefer a straight 6f, Strydom keeps the ride, has not been out the frame over the c & d, is on a competitive mark and has bagged a good draw. Plenty of comparative form between these, but do like MS at 7's
 
9/1 winner and 3 fair priced places. Poor day, but not too much damage done and most of yesterday's profits still intact. DEMONS AND WIZARDS was the annoying one coming an inevitable 4th at 66's. Did confirm the ability is there and looks to need the step up to 7f. As always will need a bit of luck with his initial mark, but should be up to winning races soon. MELIOR could make into a decent sort over in Ireland as showed plenty of today's debut.

Turns out it was a Cape Cobra, so the concerns were definitely justified.
