Horse Racing Bets Tuesday 12th September

11.50 Turffontein - Not convinced by those with experience ( Sweet Juliet, the most likely of those for me ) so going with 3 newcomers -

BANANA REPUBLIC at 11's
EMMA KALEMA at 18's
MURIEL at 28's

1.00 Turffontein - AL'S CHESTNUT - Stable / Owner's 2nd string, but does look a nicely bred newcomer. Happy risking the 33's.

2.10 Turffontein - SPICE QUEEN - Useful sort on a going day and is the jockey's sole ride on the card. Fair EW at 12's.

2.50 Turffontein - STREET FLYER - Looked to need the run last time and fairly consistent prior to that. Remains above his last winning mark, but has looked capable of winning off 82. Dead 8, so good race for an EW at 16's

4.10 Turffontein - WOTTAHOTTIE - CANNES does worry me at 20's, but this one has been running well and should be able to hang with the strong pace and will be finishing well. Line may just come to soon for him, but hopefully can get up late at 9's

Not a lot from AL'S CHESTNUT, but it was his debut and to early to give up on him yet.

STREET FLYER never really got going and whilst not beaten far is still capable of winning.

WOTTAHOTTIE was 3rd, beaten under a length and CANNES not beaten far in 5th either.

SPICE QUEEN was the highlight of the day and Calvin Habib made the most of his single ride, winning at 11's. Did look hairy for a while, but towards the finish was always holding the runner - up.
