Turffontein is the only meeting today on ATTHERACES, with the live coverage starting at 12.20pm. Quick Lucky 15, taking in the first 2, that are not in coverage -

11.10 Turffontein - ERHARDT - Poor draws in 4 of 5 career starts and was found to be coughing last time. Has fair form amongst it all and has one of the better workriders booked. Shade big IMO at the early 25's.

11.45 Turffontein - CALL TO BATTLE - Looking to oppose the 2's on shot and CTB is the stable elect and has been very short on all 3 career starts to date. Debut run was a good effort, but shockingly poor on next 2. Had a nice break, has the blinkers added and would expect more today at 9's.

12.20 Turffontein - MAIN ROLL - Fair debut effort and then saddle slipped 2nd time out. Cracks top draw today and should show more with Gavin Lerena retaining the ride.

1.30 Turffontein - VULCAN - Back off a 15 week break, but goes well fresh and solid record this trip. Good enough draw, drops in class and Muzi Yeni booked, so plenty of EW appeal at 12's.

12.55 Turffontein - MR RAMBO and TIME TO BE GREAT - MR has a chance at best and looked to be coming back into form last time. Bit to find officially, but still an EW shout at 12's. TTBG is an inconsistent maiden, but has lots of speed and has the draw to use it in 2. Blinkers did not seem to work last 2 and so have been left off. Top young jockey booked and could easily get involved at 66's.

2.10 Turffontein - SAMMI MOOSA and SECRET ANGEL - SM is generally solid and not disgraced last 3 from bad draws. Nicely berthed today and this tighter track may just suit her running style better. Looks about right at 10's. SA was moderate last twice after showing good signs, but may do better from favourable draw. Possibly a shade big at 20's.

2.45 Turffontein - STARRETT CITY and JUST CRUISED IN - SC stumbled out the gates last time and considering he was coming off a break, did well to finish 4th. Fitter today and ought to go well at 7's. JCI's maiden win looks a fair effort and has the scope to improve at 10's.

Poor to begin with, but 2nd and 3rd in the 12.55. Mr Rambo finished strongly for the runner up berth, whilst Time to be Great led for a long way and at one stage looked like hanging on at a huge price. Place money scant consolation.

Vulcan, 2nd at 18's in the 1.30, so at least another return. Not mentioned the last race yet, so going for it with 3 picks -

3.20 Turffontein - Pretty bog standard handicap with all 3 being available at big prices -

DALLEY ( Not so good since last win, but coming down the ratings and 1 for 1 this track. EW interest at 16's )
CRANBERRY CRUSH ( Genearlly consistent and good effort last time form a poor draw. Some versatility as regards tactics, but could try and lead and the course is suiting front runners today. EW chance at 25's )
YOUNG FLIRT ( Poor last time, but best recent run was here. Fair draw, coming down the weights and top young claimer booked and so interesting at 33's )

Another 2nd in the 2:10 at 14's. Already with STARRETT CITY and JUST CRUISED IN in the 2.45, but adding POST GRAD at 20's.

In the last, Cranberry Crush beaten a neck in 2nd with Dalley 3rd. Young Flirt, not disgraced in 6th either at 50's. Final total was 4 x 2nd's and a pair of 3rd's. Probably deserved a win form all that, but with only one meeting on Attheraces, the debates between events were interesting, especially regarding the proposed sale of Kempton Park.
