Strarting off over in South Africa, with a " workriders " maiden -

12.00 Turffontein - POLAR REBEL and AYESSAYPEE - PR is quite lightly raced, but only really one effort of note to her name. Bred to get the extra trip and happy chancing the 40's that it works. Ayessaypee is in decent form, but has issues at the start, If she can break on terms, then the probable lively pace would suit

2.00 Thirsk - ARCHI'S AFFAIR and SPANISH BEAUTY - I suspect AA will need more time, but trainer does well with his juveniles and can get them ready first time. No bet at a single figure price, but comfortable risking an EW at 16's. SB has had issues at the start in both contests to date, but is related to a number of winners and is getting weight all round. Hugely risky, but am at the least expecting better at 80's..

2.45 Chepstow - DEVILISH GUEST - FAV on debut and then money around on 4th start. Not shown a deal yet, but certainly bred to do beeter and this represents a significant drop in class.

3.00 Thirsk - DARK WONDER - Solid stable debut when splitting a pair of subsequent winners. Duly noted by the handicapper, but should still have more to offer.

5.30 Thirsk - DARK CASTLE - No win for 3 years, but mark is in freefall and still only 7yo, so can't give up on him yet.

8.15 Lingfield - WASSAIL - Ridiculous amount of late progress on h'cap debut and really should not get that far behind over today's trip. Gets weight off most of these and could easily threaten at 14's.
