11.40 Kenilworth - KING OF ACES - Well tried, but solid maiden and EW chance on best form and did run well last time. FORT VIVA has shown little to date, but is quite nicely bred and has been rested and gelded since last run. Possible improver at 80's
 
Forgot to mention early action from SA and Happy Valley is live on ATTHERACES -

12.20 Kenilworth - MANGROVE and KENSINGTON OVAL - Mangrove has shown fair ability and gives the indication that there is more to come He probably won't be allowed to dictate terms by the likely pacesetter FLYING GITANO but that could suit better and he can build on his improved last showing. He will relish this ten furlongs and top jockey Richard Fourie rides him for the first time. Short at 5/2, but for me is a live threat to the odds on. KO is lightly raced and has been gelded since last run. Should be capable of improvement now upped in trip and rates a fair EW alternative at 16's.
 
Mangrove got the required tow and won nicely. KO threatened the FAV for 2nd but was well held. No forecast, but did hold 3rd comfortably.

12.55 Kenilworth -

SHANGRI LA ( Solid chnace at 4's on bid for hat - trick of wins )
WHITE ROSE ( Fair form since maiden win and already dropped down to 75 )
BAQUEIRA ( Not disgraced lately and well worth a crack at this trip. Well below last winning mark, useful 9lb claimer booked and really don't get the 50's on offer )
 
1.30 Kenilworth - Combination FC/ TC with these -

ANGEL OF ATHENS ( Moderate effort out of maiden company, but was 6/1 that day. Strong pace looks assured and should be staying on nicely at 14's )
SILVER MASTER ( Enough promise in both h'cap starts to suggest he can go close at 7's )
MR LOVER BOY ( Not disgrace lately, though does need to show more to win this. Is down to a mark of 51 however and should be dangerous getting weight all round )
 
2.05 Kenilworth - TRIP THE WILLOW and STOPTHINKINGOFME - TTW has been 7/1 or shorter on all starts to date, but was moderate last twice hence the 14's today. Fair chance for me though dropped in trip and EW play at that price. The latter has done nothing in 2 h'cap starts, but looked OK in maidens and has quickly been dropped to a rating of 76. Too big IMO at 33's.
 
1.55 Punchestown - BEGINNINGTOGETUP - Will need further in time, but it should be testing enough today and does look an interesting newcomer.

2.40 Kenilworth - CHESTNUT WILD - Some fair efforts at the track and in decent form, so simply don't get the 16's on offer.

4.10 Ludlow - TIKKINTHEBOX - Bit more like it last time and not over - burdoned on h'cap debut. Probably needs to improve, but can make a good case at 28's.

5.10 Punchestown - FRANK WILDE - Plenty of newcomers in the field and like the look of this locally trained one at 10's.
 
1.55 Punchestown - Also with GET IT BACK at 100's as I feel this is the most likely of the " rags "
 
2.10 Doncaster - PSYCHOCANDY and SILENT ENCORE - Pair of rags at 100's and 66's respectively
 
6.15 Kempton - ASTROSTORM - Enough promise on debut and not sure it was as bad as today's 100/1 offer suggests.

6.45 Kempton - SAFIRA MANINA - Surprise winner of C&D amateur riders' race in November and couple of fair efforts since then. Not the most consistent, but wasn't beaten too far here latest either and does enter calculations at 8's.

7.15 Kempton - PLUCKY DIP - No win this trip and will need a decent gallop. Does look enough pace in the field and should be coming home strongly alongside the FAV.

8.15 Kempton - ASCENDANT - Stayed on well for third last time and remains on a very dangerous mark.
